Tks for your reply.
Was wondering if he might have left it locked in office and went back to get it.
Or did he have it with him and went back to the office so as not to alarm others. Looks like the latter.
Whatever the case, it's tragic.
By right, the firearm has to be with him at all times unless he goes oversea for holidays or under some special condition. Anyway not everyone will follow the standing order.
So he might have left it in office which I don't think is the main issue here.
I believe he did it in office as not to cause alarm to his family, neighbours and the public.
Imagine if his kids were around to see his dad use a gun to shoot himself, that'd be no good for his kids as a setback for whole life.
Not to forget, he did it in office, it's alot easier for his colleague to clean the mess and investigate the cause. So you won't see lots of police cars, police officers and black hearse rushed to a HDB flat and see some ah peks carry a dead body down the flat. And also, when the police IO investigate at the crime scene, all his family members may have to leave the house if the shooting occured at his home.
I don't think this guy want to cause these hassle to his family especially the kids.
This is not the first time policeman shot themselves in the office or other places.
And this will also not be the last time that such thing occurs.
As long as someone gets hold of a pistol, this will happen when his mind is out of control..
