In the SPF, all senior officers have their personal issue. Can carry around 24/7/365. When leaving S'pore, leave it in the armoury.

For detectives in the good old days, IOs and other plainclothes officers, no need to return arms.

Uniformed officers sign in and sign out when on and after duties. If there is a need to perform plainclothes duty, they can sign out their arms.

In Leong's case, his family called the police when he was in PCC.
