i am basically neutral but ok i am game.

Besides me.

This situation is far from ideal. As a result, I have no choice but to impose restrictions on the most eloquent of the anti PAP brigade in order to level the playing field.

In any society, the underprivileged need to be given assistance. The same applies in a forum environment. I'm fighting a lone battle here and in order to even out the odds, these measures are necessary.

In order to make things fairer in this forum, I'll be writing a script that will run daily and deduct 10 reputation points from the top 20% in this forum and distribute the points equally to the bottom 20%.

What's happening now is that the high rep point members are getting more and more points while the low rep point members are falling through the cracks. Some have even ended up with negative points. We can't allow this to happen in a just and fair forum. The gap between the haves and the have nots is getting far too wide and will cause a major rift in the community.

Heng ah. I am in the bottom 20%.

I have awarded you 100 points for two months worth of eloquent pro PAP propaganda. If you do well, there's another 100 points bonus plus 100 points per month for the next two months.

The points awarded to you will be subsidized by subtracting points from these pro welfare "help-those-poor-sinkie losers" members :

tracytan866 - 10 points
Fook Seng - 10 points
freedalas - 10 points
Nice-Gook - 20 points
Windsor - 20 points

Please start work immediately.

I want to apply too. I like stirring shit.

Aiyo! Our forum host is throwing tantrums now. Be afraid, be very afraid. Anyway u can tell Mr Leongsam is a true blue pro-PAP man, he is using the same tactics as his master PAP in curbing free speech or rather, speech agains the PAP.

I'm not curbing free speech. I'm simply leveling the playing field. Isn't that what you've been on about for the last whole week... whinging about how the PAP is so rich and the underprivileged are in dire straits and that wealth distribution should be made a lot more even.

When I take steps to do the same in the forum, you now accuse me of throwing tantrums.

Oh I see. But can please explain to forummers here why it is not a level playing field now. Pro PAP samsters can post glowing praises of the PAP also what. You mean pro PAP samsters don't have internet access ah?

It's not a level playing field because the pro PAP members are outnumbered 100 to 1 and they get put into moderation by the anti PAP brigade. Even the forum host has been zapped 3 times for defending the PAP. Luckily, I have a sufficient buffer. If I was a newbie pro PAP member, I would have been silenced by the marauding mob of lefty socialists here.

But wouldn't that be a realistic representation of S'pore society. I mean the 60% who voted the PAP despite of their failings are those who would just let things be, make do with whatever the circumstances, no change is the best philosophy type. So we shouldn't be expecting them to come here to make favorable posts of the PAP, they are basically the complacent lot, the silent majority if you will. Whereas the 40% who voted against the PAP would naturally be the much more vocal. So I don't see how the new rules you're introducing would change things. Just to clarify, I am not taking pot shots at you, I seriously want to know, and for the benefit of other forummers.

I'm encouraging the silent majority to be more vocal. Surely there's nothing wrong with that.

There's no point preaching to the converted. You should be happy if I can get more pro PAP Singaporeans to speak up here.

quite true. While they are here, the chances of them being converted to pro-opposition will be quite high.

There are many silent listeners. Don't hear them utter a single word. Statistically speaking there should be a fair number of pro-establishment type. Seriously speaking, is the survival of the forum at stake if there are too few pro-estb, especially you?

There's nothing wrong with encouraging the silent majority to be more vocal. In fact, it would be good if they do come to this forum and speak out for the PAP and then we can have a healthy debate here. What I'm trying to say is that the rules you introduced won't any effect on them at all because they are by nature a passive lot who passively voted the PAP every time. They are not interested in any political discourse, they just want to live each day without any disruption.

I wouldn't call them passive. I classify them as grateful citizens who can appreciate what the PAP has done to make Singapore such a fantastic country to live in. I'm trying to encourage them to come here and express their gratitude.

The anti PAP members on the other hand are a rowdy ungrateful lot who don't have the brains to realise what a great country Singapore is.

i can try to find them in the taiji classes every Sunday morning around the neighborhood or maybe i can sign myself up at those line dancing workshops, then you'll have more pro-PAP voices around here.
