Lawyer Leonard Loo who made the headlines last year for offering free legal advice to the beleaguered minibond holders had met up with ex-Table Tennis coach Liu Guodong before he departed for Beijing.
Loo spoke to Liu for half a hour at his hotel to discuss about Liu’s legal options. Loo offered to fight the case for Liu pro bono.
Liu Guodong thanked Loo for his kind offer. He will seek the counsel of a lawyer in Beijing before deciding on his next course of action.
Loo told the media that the “strong words” used by Lee Bee Wah to describe Liu’s character is sufficient to be considered as libel.
