Indeed it is prime land...
maybe the govt is using the reclaimed land for the Garden for the next 20yrs to allow the ground to firm and settle before they use it for more permanent usage like like an entertainment complex or condo complex..
that wld be the only redeeming point..the GBTB cant be there for long...opportunity costs is too high
cant be airport lahhh...so much build-up areas ...too dangerous for aircraft to land and take-off..too noisy too
sometimes, the company wants an expensive garden so that they can make more money from the project..
Frankly the place is abt flowers and tress...nothing technologically advance nor innovative nor fantastic...why do simple trees and plants cost so much?

i dont deny that beautifying the skylines is important...but due diligence must be exercise when spending public money..and if we cant pay $200m for a project, why pay $1B? are we getting value for money?
i bring up the issue of due diligence because of the gross mishandling of YOG budget and planning
