After reading this piece of news I wish to ask some knowledgeable members here if there is any difference in the consequence or type of punishment between being charged for lying and corruption. Consequences I mean like maybe lying is not considered a crime but corruption is a crime so got record etc.

I also have another question in this case where the accused persuaded another person to lie and the other person lied under his persuation will this person get charged too?

Bernard Lim Yong Soon, the NParks assistant director who oversaw the purchase, was charged in court on Aug 29 with lying to auditors investigating the deal. The 41-year-old had allegedly denied that he was friends with a director from Bikehop, the supplier of the bicycles.

A second charge alleges that Lim had persuaded the director to provide the same false information to the auditors, who as a result of his lies did not look further into the relationship between the two men.

This happened sometime between June and July last year, when Lim was being questioned over the controversial purchase of the folding bicycles, which cost NParks $2,200 each. The case against him will be heard in court again on Oct 24.

He may not be guilty under Prevention of Corruption Act because prosecutor may not be able to prove any element of corruption. The bike seller is his friend and the most is conflict of interest.

So prosecutor charged him with lying.
OIIILLLLLLL WONGMENGMENG the lawyer, pls comment.

OIIILLLLLLL WONGMENGMENG the lawyer, pls comment.

My only comments are:

1) I am not WongMengMeng the real person;

2) Gingerlyn sent me a "friend" request even before making a single post like about one or two weeks ago - highly suspicious to say the least;

3) Immediately after receiving that "friend" request, I deactivated that function and promptly received a reputation comment without any increase or decrease in my rep points - most probably filled with vulgarities - makes it all even more suspicious.

My conclusion is that Gingerlyn is a PAP IB. Readers should take care and come to their own conclusions. I for one will not want to have anything to do with this porn star wannabe.

Why "most probably" filled with vulgarities? Can't you read the comments? :confused:

"Probably" because past experience as per this other thread #47 point (5) tells me a reputation comment from some nick with no power to up or zap is 10 times out of 10 a vulgarity filled piece of crab calculated to irritate and put me off from Sammyboy.

Therefore, I do not even bother to read such useless reputation comments. The only thing that will make me open the notifications icon is an increase in my rep points. :cool:

Beware that there are those who up points but leave abusive comments.
They are neither donors nor subscribers, so they can't zap, and they have +ve power, so it's an up when they leave a comment in the rep system.
This is bizarre, but it's happening.

Hi Goose, I went to the Chinese restaurant and saw your corpse hanging there. It seems your brains have been roasted but the chef didn't do a good job, your skin does not crispy at all. This brainles and tasteless roast goose is just not up to my standard so FUCK OFF.
