i am not clone and don't own any clone.
one party will not last. look at pap u think now 3rd gen? nope! still 1st gen! like lord of the ring. one ring to rule them all! only the ring is destroyed then new era.

Any party can rule but Parliament belongs to all parties with seats. Let it be a true parliament.

WP isn't the only party compromised. ALL opposition parties are. The pertinent question is the position(s) of those compromised. Agents are either sent into the party or 'cultivated' with the right approach. Using the right person or the right key is critical to 'unlock' that target. They are often convinced that S'pore politics is for S'poreans and their services needed to detect foreign involvement.

The grand plan is simple and straightforward - for the PAP to maintain power in S'pore and for them to have 'almost' perfect intel on the opposition. If an opposition party defeats the PAP, better to have one of their own than others they have no control over. Grand plan will never be revealed even when there is an imminent danger of PAP losing majority.

I do not have enough information to believe one way or another. I do not know of any grand plan 30 to 50 years old that went according to plan and succeeded in the end. Too many variables can happen along the way to scupper the most well thought out plan e.g. The agent not following according to plan or just playing with you or grow some personal ambition, just to name a few possibilities. Who want to be under control of another party especially if that party's power is weakening? Saying that doesn't mean I think this really happened. What I am saying is by piecing some bits of information together and coming up with a conclusion, especially for a secret plan like this, it is very much like the case of the blind men and the elephant. I believe there is really room for an opposition faction with a left of centre leaning and WP represents that. Whether that is the natural tendency of those people in the party or its supposedly association with the PAP, it has a right to be around.

Let me try to decrypt this

1) The "grand plan" is to retain power. And they are still in power.
2) Agents are told that it is to detect foreign hand in local politics and national security is paramount - sounds very reasonable and even patriotic.
3) A small stipend is given initially to formalise the contract - one is now blooded as the payment has gone thru
4) You cannot walk away because of the long trail of information provided and payment made
5) So you become cautious, circumspect etc
6) There are others in the party that are not tainted, they carry the moral loadt

ps. the plan began delivering long time ago. Someone was late on nomination day for MP BE for example. And the organising sec was ....

I agree that a grand conspiracy theory is very attractive. But I have to look at point 1) closely. The objective is to stay in power. Then why exposé yourself to the risk that the one you plant may actually usurp you in power? Why need to lose a GRC, two ministers and a would be speaker and further expose yourself to a deterioration of your position. Seems like a lousy plan to me, especially from one surrounded by double firsts in mathematics in a well-known English university, one with a result never yet surpassed by another Singaporean, living or dead. If there was any plan, most likely it was a plan of the moment and its tenure could have expired.
