From the Press, the cement mixer driver have 20 years of experience & is mentoring the younger drivers in the company & emphasis is safety. The father of the boys, taught them road safety. What went wrong? both are taught to be safe, then who is reckless? who is to be bless, who is to be blame?
1. If the parents of the boys, were of a better social status, either one of them could have driven & pick up the boys to & from school, but they weren't.
2. Everybody is in a great hurry, the boys must be hurrying home, so that mum can go McDonald's to work part time.
3. The cement mixer driver must be in a hurry too, maybe late for his delivery, or going for another trip. Lunar New Year is round the corner, in what we say in Hokkien, "pia chwee", to make a bit more.
What can be done to make the road safer for all, not only the younger ones or the elderly? We must wait for the police investigation to be completed, then we will know, who was speeding, who wasn't & who wasn't keeping a look out.
It is every parents responsibility for their children, I believe that, many do, teach their children but they are so busy making a living that they have no time to supervise the children & see that what they have been taught are observed.
In other words, it is the fault of the society!
