Woman injured after tree falls at Istana Park
SINGAPORE : A 69—year old woman was injured after a tree fell at the Istana Park along Orchard Road on Wednesday.
The incident took place at about 4pm while the elderly woman was walking by the Istana area.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said the woman had "redness on the elbow" and was conscious when sent to the Singapore General Hospital.
It was not clear what caused the raintree to fall, but eye witnesses said the incident initially resulted in a traffic jam there.
When MediaCorp’s news team arrived at the scene, the tree had been moved to the roadside.
NParks said the tree would be removed by Wednesday night. — CNA/ms
