AHPETC and Workers’ Party chairman Sylvia Lim says that she could take legal action against the various government departments and statutory boards found to have lapses by the Auditor-General’s Office.

This comes as the Ministry of National Development continued its onslaught on AHPETC, town council chairman and Workers’ Party chairman Sylvia hit back, highlighting the lapses the AGO found involving government boards, and accusing the MND of unfairly singling out AHPETC for “exemplary treatment”.

Ms Lim was arguing against the MND’s appeal for independent accountants to be appointed to the town council in a court hearing yesterday (3 Aug).

She said the the MND should take action against these government agencies for lapses, drawing similarities between their lapses and the AHPETC’s.

She highlighted the case of the People’s Association, referring to the former chairman of the Citizens Consultative Committee of Admiralty ward in Sembawang GRC approving his own claims to the tune of more than S$114,000.

Ms Lim also raised the issue of the National Parks Board awarding S$20 million in contracts without competition.

She said that given the Government and MND’s “zeal in taking AHPETC to task” could prompt her into acting with “similar vigour”.

Now is the perfect opportunity for Mr Png Eng Huat to reply to Ms Josephine Teo, something which Png failed to do so during parliamentary sitting.

Mr Png was tongue-tied when Jojo asked him to give an example where similar conclusion (to that drawn against AHPETC) was made by the AGO against other statutory boards and government departments.

As a result, Mr Png engaged in some oxymoron statements, drawing a comparison while at the same time denying so. You see from the video Jojo was feeling smug.

Now is the pay back time. Mr Png should give Jojo some jialat jialat grilling !

Goh Li Lian and Sylvia need to keep in shape!

How could anyone overcome the rigours of serving the people with an unhealthy body?

they should have focus more on how to win ppl hearts instead on doing such a childish act

Jo Teo cannot make it! So smug and contented in her new ministerial appointment. She thought she had Png and the WP cornered and shamed into submission but God works in mysterious ways. She spoke too soon!

kick the WP out!
