Windows 8 - Everything At Once

I'm still hesitating to get a new notebook/PC as majority of them will now be loaded with Win8.
Don't really like to start exploring the new user interface all over again but seems like we have not much choice unless to fall back on previous
version of windows OS.

Anyone here already familiar with Win8 ?
is it a much better OS compared to WinXP or Win7 ?

Please share your user experience and views here as reference for those considering getting a new notebook/PC loaded with Win 8.

I think Lenovo still ships PCs and notebooks with Windows 7, with an option for you to downgrade to Windows 8.

Classic Shell won't get rid of crap in Windows 8 such as the lock screen, 'charms' and the Metro tile Start screen.

Install Virtual Box, and a Windows 8 virtual machine. Try Windows 8 using the virtual machine and see if you like it before taking the plunge

Why would you want to downgrade from 7 to 8? You already have a better OS. There are people who want 7 but have no choice but to get 8.

I have not heard of that? You can do all things on MAC & IOS, you don't even need Windows...

I have been using Macs since 1989 and never had issues with anything. I created 70% of my current assets using a Mac. There can't possibly be anything wrong with the platform.

Mac has tons of compatibility issues. Please do not get locked in with Mac and regret big time.

There is no difference bt 7 & 8 except 8 boots faster and has 2 mode of display, one is desktop mode just like 7 but no start button. Other is the tiles mode that display weather, stocks,
programs you may chose to display in tiles.

Other then that there's no different. Tiles mode is only good for touch-screen btw.

Nobody needs 8, unless its touch screen.
