In Malaysia, a Singaporean couple were on a pleasant drive to a hill resort for a holiday when their vacation turned into a nightmare. If it wasn't bad enough that their Ferrari was damaged in an accident, they were then also robbed as well.

On Friday, the couple were travelling in their 'head-turning' vehicle, when it collided with another vehicle about to 274km along the North-South Expressway. The smash was not life-threatening, but it did do some significant damage to the front-end of the Ferarri.

This is an old trick M'sian highway robbers use, the modus operandi goes something like this: knock into your cars to create an accident to force you to stop and then rob you.

I believe they were travelling in a group with communication equipments. What happened to the rest when this couple was hit by the Malaysian vehicle? All ran away to protect their own car and go far far away to call for the police?

Moral of the story -

1) Don't travel with the rich as they are most likely to save their own ass before saving you.
2) If you are rich enough to be in a group driving exotic sportscars, you'd be rich enough to pay the M'sain police for an escort all the way back to make sure nobody messes around.

Because one of our "high profile" senior citizen like to go around criticising other countries and offering free advice (eg telling the Indonesians "whats wrong with Suharto milking the country for a couple of billions? "), people in the region will retaliate against innocent Singaporeans since they cannot get back at the old man.
While countries like the US and France will send in the Marines or Foreign Legion to protect its citizen /interest- see what happened when many lost huge amounts because of CLOB.
