Keeping senior citizens
'Employers should listen to the Government.'
DR ANG ENG-TAT: 'I refer to yesterday's report, 'PM urges no let-up in keeping seniors at work'. In packaging the message, we should stress the personal benefits of working beyond one's official retirement age. Older Singaporeans should be persuaded to work because they want to, not because they must. I would like to work as long as possible simply because I want to work, not because I have to. I certainly do not want to burden my family or society. All things said, employers should listen to what the Government is advocating and keep senior citizens employed.'
