Their female soldiers are trained specifically for combat missions, particularly in sniper, airborne and infantry warfare. Given the thumbs up by this female pilot, these women seem to definitely earn their feathers.

Norway has an odd history when it comes to female soldiers. Having been active in all branches in 1938, they were demoted to only civilian duties in 1947 after a political shift. Later in 1977 and 1984, they slowly began to be able to do more, and in 1995 they were permitted to serve as submarine crew. Today there is at least one woman who commands a submarine. Maybe it is this woman in the red beret.
