Where to buy piranha fish? Any idea?

Does rearing an arowana bring you luck?

I see many Chinese Towkays like to keep this ugly looking fish.

Can it be eaten?
I keep them for their grace and beauty, not for any auspicious reasons. They can be eaten, and were eaten in the days before they became a protected species under CITES. But they are very bony. Fish will lots of scales tend to be bony.

Let me guess, now you're going to ask me what is CITES?

I don't mind being called dumb as long as I learn something.
Fuck! Now you make me feel bad. OK lah ok lah, here it is :

CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) is a multilateral treaty to protect endangered plants and animals. It was drafted as a result of a resolution adopted in 1963 at a meeting of members of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. The convention was opened for signature in 1973 and CITES entered into force on 1 July 1975.

Piranha - I kept them in the 80s. When they were still being sold at selegie road. Have to keep them well fed. One day I came back from school and found one half eaten by its mates but still breathing.

They are actually quite boring after a while. Too timid, dash around the tank when approached.

Yes you are correct. He should believe you, not me:biggrin:
