Surely it can't just be the English language? I always hear countries like New Zealand, Canada, Australia being mentioned here. What about Europe? Japan?

It just happened that the 3 countries you mentioned are open to other nationalities.
And since we are technically more competent in English, we do not need to take up second class citizens' jobs (eg running restaurants in ethnic zones).

well no one is stopping anyone from emigrating to Europe, but those countries might not be so open to immigrants especially Asians.

Japan is an alternative but the society is stressful and again is not open to immigrants. Also, u got to master the langugage well to survive there (unless u are 'white' else you'll be seen as a Japanese everywhere u go)

Anglo country is attractive because of its open policy to immigrants, relaxed lifestyle, developed infrastructure & legal system, established education & healthcare system, stable government, open space, freedom of speech, and heaps of beautiful places to visit. I find that Sporeans with very strong chinese roots and values might not blend in the western society.

Language barrier mainly. That's why I say look at the USA, I dont consider that an Ang Moh/Anglo country at all.
