What Is Singapore Culture? (Serious discussion, no TCSS please)

What your beef against foreign born Singaporean? As long he or she spend his/her formulative years in this tropical island, went thru the education and more importantly done his national service plus reservist, he or her is a fellow citizen I will be willing to defend.

By your twisted logic, CSM should not be allow to run on the WP ticket in 2011.

Culture Is For Growing Bacteria

Both my parents were Singaporeans. I arrived when I was 15 months old. I got my pink IC when I was still in school. Did my NS... did 13 year reservist cycle. Lived in Singapore for more than 30 years.

Actually, it really depends on whether you are a collaborator or a sucker using PAP as a reference point.

To me, culturing is to grow bacteria. And this f***in earth has full of it. Destruction of mankind should also be in my Christmas list or New Year 'resolution'.

Whatever success I've had in life, I owe it all to the PAP for creating the opportunities. For that, I'll be forever grateful.

Every country, every community, every race with different generation has its own Culture. Things being done with no question being asked to understand or being voiced to get understandings. Such activities being a norm within the country and/or community. E.g. When you accidentally banged your shoulder against another while walking on the street in Singapore, you apologise. If not, be expecting minimum a stare from the other party. Sometimes, you will still get a stare or a word or two even if you apologised. We don't call those people DOGS when we banged against them and not apologise. In China, it's a norm to bang shoulders on the street while walking and continue walking without apology. This is their Culture.

The event which united all Singaporeans involved a cup belonging to another country.

The gahment says hotel NewWorld united all Singaporeans

May be we should have summore hotel NewWorlds

Are you trying to say that you will not be as successful you are now if you are in another country? You don't have faith in your own capability? This is not the Ah Leong, i know. Your parent gave life to you, change your diapers when you are an infant, pay for your medical fees when you sick, pay for your educations and so on. Right now, you are saying you owe ALLyour success to PAP? Na Bu Eh Chee Bye! Lim Bei is speechless!

My parents worked for the PAP so all my diapers were paid for indirectly by the party. The PAP paid for my medical expenses and my education too.

Re: Culture Is For Growing Bacteria

not 100% true.We all pay back in cash or kind over the years...with interest

What Is Singapore Culture?

Maybe, can answer this question with "What is Not a Singapore Culture?"

eg.. shitting openly on the street, speaking with a pinoy slang, able-bodied males but never serve a day of NS, never watch a porn... etc etc :D:D:D

Wrong. PAP don't pay for your expenses. Your parent's time and efforts paid for your all your cost. The money your parent got from PAP is in exchange for their time and effort working for the PAP. By the way, your parent are not paid by PAP for the effort of changing your diapers. Aren't you an Elite who studied in an Elite School? Elite school don't teach equation?

hi there

1. honest, this does not come as some surprise to me coming from you!
2. some sattire again! sammy.

Apart from Sam Leong(who is not considered a true Singaporean) I am still waiting for someone to declare himself.

Ok. I am not a Singaporean, used to be.

Singapore culture? Can't put a finger on it so far, but going by this forum and kopitiam chats, there are two: one that believes PAP has and will make their lives better, and another who believes the PAP has made their lives miserable and will keep making it worse.

Cheers!

Are U serious with this post???

singapore has a 'clean and gracious' culture. People dont hawk and spit all over the place,

U don't have smoker friends right?

talk loudly and drive dangerously .

I'm just going to assume you don't visit Kopitiams and don't drive. Most of the family friends(I come from a family of hawkers btw) talk like they have a loud speaker installed in their throat. In fact when they talk, they sound like they are arguing with each other

They dont go around trying to bed other people's maids.

There were many cases of locals complaining wives cannot get PR coz last time used to work here as Maids. Now cannot come back in

They mostly dont let their spoilt kids treat restaurants as if it was their own private playground.

U don't have friends with kids do U?

How's that for starters?

I've a seen more then enough locals done all the above U stated so yeah those points are totally invalid

We have 4 major races, each race has its own culture so we have a rojak culture and there's nothing wrong with that.

Over the years, we have developed our unique way of life, a certain level of tolerance/respect towards one another. Our Singapore identity is fast eroding but we still share the same problems and the same longing to preserve what our forefathers have left for us and building a better Singapore for ourselves and our kids - which is what bind us together.

FTs are destroying everything.

I still stand by my case that only Singaporeans and those with Singapore passports or used to own one are participating here. waiting for a true FT to come in and say otherwise. We all have something in common, they do not have, a Singapore Identity.

Kan Ni Na Bu Phua Chee Bye you! You are trying to say that there are Singaporeans doing these, so foreigners doing all these are norm? This is Singapore, not China, not Philippines, not India. Want to do all these dirty, irritating, disgusting stuffs. Fuck back to their own country to do so. I have enough of you trying to act neutral. As if we do not fucking have enough such people, we need to import more of these Trashes. We are discussing about some of these rubbish stuffs happening in SG practised by those foreign TRASHES. And here the fuck you are, pin pointing SGporeans are doing so. So what? Let me tell you again, this is SINGAPORE!!!Fuck your Mother Phua Chee Bye!:oIo::oIo::oIo::oIo::oIo:
