VIPs do not go to a fast food restaurant for a photo op.

The agenda here is quite obvious.

Jollibee at Lucky Plaza is the brand's top performing outlet worldwide

The Jollibee outlet at Lucky Plaza is the brand's top performing outlet worldwide. The Phillipines-based popular fast food chain, famous for its fried chicken dish Chickenjoy, has over 800 outlets across the globe and opened its first Singapore outlet on the sixth floor of Lucky Plaza on March 12 this year.

Jollibee's vice president for international operations Dennis M. Flores told The Straits Times that the Lucky Plaza outlet attracted 35,000 customers in its first week but did not elaborate on customer numbers so far. Jollibee is looking to open another outlet by the end of the year at either Tampines or Causeway Point in Woodlands, he added.

Jollibee formally marked its first milestone store in Singapore on Wednesday with a celebration officiated by its global chief executive and chairman Tony Tan Caktiong. Among the invited guests were former president of Singapore, Mr S R Nathan, and Temasek Holdings' chief executive and executive director Ho Ching.

Mrs Grace Tan Caktiong, president of Jollibee Group Foundation, also presented a cheque for $8,888 to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund at the event. A surprise birthday celebration was also thrown for Mr Nathan, who turned 89 on Wednesday.

This is call rubbing salt into the wound.
Pinoys stealing jobs from locals not bad enough but must still glorify Pinoy joints.

Locals must show solidarity by not even going near any Jollibee -let them do Pinoys (and their Bangla boyfriends) business alone and see how long they can survive.

These old folks are killing themselves slowly.

Stay away from such shops - that is the advice of good old doctors

Why was Kenny Bee not inVited to JoLLiBee's Opening ?..

This a billionaire fast food restaurant, it is located in Lucky Plaza the most expensive place per sq m you stand on, where on earth would they invite Kenny Bee there to the opening & having his birthday there. Furthermore, 'birthday boy' for some time, lived down the street...it is more of "on the street, where I live".. ha ha ha

The Filipinos eat at Jolibee, only when they can afford back home...it is the local Pinoys/Pinay are giving that place the support, for it reminds them of back home...few locals will venture there. The money they make is from these people who work here... so it is FT supporting FT...

What so great about it??
