I have a feeling with his showing so far he is not a likable person by Singaporeans. The older ones may be more gullible like giving face to the PAP brand but his ways of trying to reach out to the middle age and younger Singaporeans if actually disturbing and irritating - full of crass lack of class

Good grades do not translate to good problem solving skills, interpersonal skills or an ability to have foresight. All these are just as important if not more important. Just look at this joke and you can straight away appreciate that the scholar policy is far from foolproof. What the scholar system does for the PAPzis is to identify their minions from a young age and to keep a watchful eye on them for years to ensure that they can be trusted to be part of the system.

It's questionable how good their grades were really--1st Class, Masters etc..how did they get it?
