I pretty much have same route of succss with everyone until graduation. My career was a F9 though for the past 3 years after graduation. When i see facebook, I saw professional career in people I have known in the past and i was like some part time jobs which is similar to student jobs.

I usually dread the idea of gatherings cos really i feel i am just a blue collar temperory worker despite gotten a university degree.

I always try to look at the positive sides of thing in this issue but the inferior feeling does come to me sometimes also. Other people are like maybe more than 4k, maybe some 3k still, while i am like just 1k plus worker. I know that there are million of things to be grateful about even though i have this rough patch to deal with.

I really have not figured out this problem well, otherwise I would not been still down over this sometimes. I have not fully learn to leverage on my situation and my self esteem is also hurt. I should have learn from this instead of being negative and come out a much stronger self esteem than everyone else. I will do it. just do it and try to do it.

No need for such gathering. Only buddy will be good enough nromally buddy will be the only really concern about what you doing and try to help out.
Other such class gathering many just there to show of how success they are and also many talk big. Those really rich/success will not brag about their family/house/property/share/money.
Only those half fuck rich have such attitude.

I can fully understand how you felt. I was caught in similar situation before and comfort myself that success is transient as long as you remained an employee. Hard earned savings can deplete quite fast once you run out of job - who can tell right? Our cost of livings are so high and labour become so cheap (all thanks to PAP reckless policies)

Instead of feeling envy of your friends job and high pay, why not consider being an entrepreneur. Do something you enjoy most in doing and put in maximum effort to achieve it. Singapore is no longer a country that recognise individual strength but how cheap they are in the labour market.

As such there is no other place to tap your capability and strength. Turned it into a business and work yourselves upward. Your return may be lesser than full time job but it provides indefinite incomes. Everything has to start somewhere, some don't even require huge capital.

You must learn from GMS! He is also very unsuccessful compared to his ex classmate, running a small computer shop but everyday come here and boast how good he is compare to the PAP elites. You only need 10% of his tick skin then you will be alright:rolleyes::D

Graduate with what qualifications. If U think U are getting less then what you should be getting, do something about it. No use complaining in here, seriously U complain in here the jokers in here will make it worse.

3-4K for a uni grad isnt really a lot. If you have a degree you should be able to see that kinda pay pretty easily with maybe 2-3 years experience.

Go look for a new job, read the job ads every day, deposit your resume with job agencies. I get a newsletter every other week or so from those job agencies. I also get queries for interviews with prospective employers from time to time from this pple. Stop feeling bad about yourself and do something about it

May be you would like to share which agencies so as to give him a leg start or where you deposited your resume. I noticed not all agencies are ethical or friendly to the jobless. Thus better desposit your resume selectively.

You sound like GEN Y - the 20 somethings..let me share with you the profiles of GEN X candidates that search firms have been feeding me, I will give you a general pattern :

Primary School : x-tain brother or sister school or some elite neighbourhood school
Secondary : Elite school
Junior College : RJC / HCJC / VJC category
University : NUS (Gen X got no NTU or SMU)

1st Job : MNC - Management trainee
2nd Job : MNC - Manager
3rd Job : MNC - maybe division manager or country manager
4th job : Local Company public listed - Director level
5th Job : still looking for one after being retrenched for 12 months

Citizenship : S I N G A P O R E A N

Now you know why everyone so dulan with fucking FTs that uses fake degrees to screw us of our jobs?

Do not let your paycheck or money you have be a measure of your success.

This happens every time when I go for classmates gathering, they bring their wives, husbands, kids over and they said how envious they are of who and who, so and so can have own business, earn lots of money.

I always tell them, you look at your wife (to girls, your husband) and your kids around you and they are the fruits of your success.

Do you mean a slap? Or the clap?
Based on past experience, the TS post was cut and paste from somewhere else, possibly another forum.
Note the embarrassed face in the title. It's not embarrassment due to being unsuccessful.
