Grace Fu says we should "not be too overly concerned" with the 3-hour PSI
Second Minister for Environment and Water Resources Grace Fu said it is "important for the public to refer to the 24-hour PSI" and "not be too overly concerned with the 3-hour PSI which may show spikes and drops from time to time".
"The health impacts of air pollutants are actually determined both by the concentration and also the duration of exposure. So when we measure the health impact and determine the advisory, the 24-hour measurement is a better reflection of the total exposure of an individual to particulate matter," she added..

Indonesia blamed eight companies, including Jakarta-based PT Sinar Mas Agro Resources and Technology (SMART) and Asia Pacific Resources International (APRIL), for the fires. The government, which said it would take action against any company responsible for the disaster, is expected to name the rest of the firms on Saturday.
"The majority of hotspots in Riau (province) are inside APRIL and Sinar Mas concessions," senior presidential aide Kuntoro Mangkusubroto told Reuters.
An APRIL statement said the company and third-party suppliers had a "strict no-burn policy" for all concessions in Indonesia.
An analysis of satellite maps and government data by Reuters and the think tank World Resources Institute also revealed spot fires on land licensed to Singapore-listed First Resources Ltd and Indonesia's Provident Agro.

Apparently Sinar Mas is the parent company but two of its subsidiaries are Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) and Golden Agri Resources. Both of these companies are listed on SGX.

I think the important question now is whether Vivian and LHL will honour their word?? They said that they would take these companies to task IF evidence could be presented that they were based in Singapore. So now, what are they going to do? They had better show some balls and take these companies head on. A slap on the wrist won't do. The people are angry.

It's becoming obvious that the PAP is being caught off guard by the haze thing. Probably too busy "fixing" Sporeans & the opposition
