Today's Scripture Reading

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 9, 2010]

The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. [Deuteronomy 28:20]

In chapter 28 of the book of Deuteronomy, blessings and curses are enumerated at length, and in various minute details. Although these blessings or curses which will occur to those who either obeyed or disobeyed God were directed at the Israel the truth is that we all will also face the same judgment because our God is a just and impartial God. For our obedience, as an individual or as a nation, we can expect great blessings from Him and these blessings will be found everywhere: in the city, in the country, in our homes, in our farms, in our kitchens and in warfare against our enemies but the best blessing that God will deliver to us is our relationship with Him. God will separate His obedient people from those who disobeyed Him. He will establish for us as a holy people to Himself rather than just for our own sake. His intent is to glorify Himself through these blessings so that all the people of the earth will see that we are called by the name of the Lord Jesus, the Name above every name (Philippians 2:9).

The opposite is equally true. When we disobeyed God, as an individual or as a nation, curses will be upon us as enumerated in verses 15 to 68 of Deuteronomy chapter 28. These curses that God has promised to send to those who disobeyed Him sounds like the description of what many societies face today. News media has mistakenly focused these curses purely on social issues, climate change, recycling, environmental issues but God tells us our problems are not social, environmental or political. Instead, the media industry prefers to use the term ‘calamities’ implying that they are due to the ‘law of nature’ and we are not at fault. We must acknowledge that the very roots of our problems are wholly disobedience to God’s way which will lead us to total moral decay and destructions.

Although there is nothing much that we can do to turn our nation to obey God, as individuals we can escape these curses and judgment by turning ourselves to God and by committing ourselves to obeying Him whole-heartedly. This is God’s covenant of choice and it is up to us to choose – to obey or to disobey; to receive eternal life or to face eternal death!

Since 1962 when the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that teaching Bible and praying to the Jesus in schools is unconstitutional and in recent years it has prohibited the display of Ten Commandments in all public buildings, the U.S. is on a downhill spiral in every aspect of the nation’s morality. Although the nation was originally founded on Christianity principles about 230 years ago, they have now kicked God of out of their lives. As noted by one U.S. politician, the current state of the U.S. can best be summarized as follows:

• the economy is not working;
• the military is completely broken;
• the infrastructure is falling apart;
• the healthcare and hospitals are in despair;
• the political system is a joke;
• the nation is in a revolutionary situation but the government lied to people that everything is ok!

And that’s not all! Children are killing one another in the schools, rampant teenage pregnancies, abortions, drug abuse and the list goes on. As we look at the current state of affair in the U.S. and in many other western nations, we can see a lot of their similarities. We can convince ourselves that God’s judgment is indeed at work. Can our nation face with the same judgment from God? Perhaps it may because our society, our people are kicking God out, and it should not surprise to us that we too will face the same judgment unless we now turn back to God.

It is obvious that because the world has rejected God (John 17:25), many people choose to engage in sinful activities the world promotes ranging from illicit and vice trades to lying, cheating, cooking the books, irresponsibility, self-centeredness, homosexuality, sexual promiscuity, etc. Admittedly, we must confess that everyone of us, including myself, has some fair share of engaging unwholesome worldly activities and indulgences at some point in our life but thankfully, after we have come to the full knowledge of Christ and by His Holy Spirit, we now repent and through His strengthening we can now avoid these sinful activities. Remember, we always reap what we sow even if it is eventually, we must therefore put an immediate stop to sow the seed of evilness and wickedness and come to a total repentance. It’s never too late to repent of our sins no matter how big they are and it never too late to submit ourselves to God’s way. Accepting Jesus and the blood of Jesus will wash our sins away and the curses will be removed. God has affirmed this to us in Isaiah 1:18 that though our sin be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson; they shall be as wool. Have you prayerfully and sincerely search to restore your personal relationship with Christ? He is waiting anxiously to restore fully His relationship with you and He is knocking at your door right now and waiting for you to invite Him in (Revelation 3:20). God is faithful and just and He will forgive all our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we confess and repent (1 John 1:9).

But we must not just end here. We must do our part to share the Good News to our friends and relatives however small our efforts may be. When many people each do a little, we all can accomplish great feats for God. With all the natural disasters of recent days: destructive hurricanes in the U.S., massive earthquakes that occurred almost every two to three weeks since beginning this year, the bizarre volcano eruptions in Iceland, severe drought in many parts of Asia, colony collapse disorder in which many thousands of honeybees are disappearing without a trace and now the oil leakage in the Gulf of Mexico that is seriously threatening wild life and marine and fishery industry – all seem to add to our urgent need to spread the prophecy that is about to unfold – the Lord’s return.

Furthermore, many churches today are awash in a watered-down, doctrine-less, soft-pedaling, anything-goes, pop psychology, don't-offend-anybody, entertainment-oriented, permissive quagmire while at the same time prioritizing prosperity preaching over the preaching of the Cross of Jesus. In fact, even some professing Christians and ordained ministers today are accepting alternative lifestyle behaviours such as same sex-marriage that would never be condoned just few years ago. These alternative lifestyle behaviours are never condoned in the Bible. Opponents to these are never welcomed especially when they speak God's truth. This may be the reason why many Christians and church leaders do not openly speak against these evil practices.

The Bible tells us that we will be hated by the world when we called out the name of Jesus (Mark 13:13). So, how long can we call out to His Name before we are told that it is illegal to even mention the name of Jesus to others? There were indeed reports in the U.S. that Christians who openly preached against alternative lifestyle were detailed because they have used abusive or insulting language contrary to the Public Order Act. The Public Order Act is a piece of legislation that is made to contain hooliganism but is now used to silent preachers who preached the Bible. (Source: News from the MinistryToday Report May 4, 2010).

As committed Christians, we must help to spread the gospel and to let people know who Jesus is as our top priority while the doors are still wide open and that we are still able to do this especially via means of electronic media using e-mail, the Internet and various facets of the electronic media revolution. In fact, Jesus’ last few words before He was ascended to heaven were: Go into the world and preach the gospel to everyone (Mark 16:15). This is a commandment and not just a simple instruction from our Lord Jesus. Let us all labour for Him because time is running out and His return is closer than what we have ever thought!

WHO IS THIS PERSON?

• In chemistry, He turned water into wine.

• In biology, He was born without a normal conception.

• In physics, He disapproved the law of gravity when He ascended into heaven.

• In economics, He disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5,000 with two fishes and 5 loaves of bread.

• In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs.

• In history, He is the beginning and the end.

• In government, He said that He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace.

• In religion, He said that no one comes to the Father except through Him.

• So, who is this? He is Jesus!

• The Greatest Man in History, Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

• Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

• Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

• Had no army, yet kings feared Him.

• He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

• He committed no crimes, yet they crucified Him. He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

Join me and celebrate Him; He is worthy. The eyes holding this message shall not behold evil. The hand that will send this message to everybody shall not in vain. And the mouth that saying Amen to this prayer shall smile forever. I feel so honoured to serve Him who loves us. In God, we have found everything. Seek His face always! Amen.

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 16, 2010]

But godliness with contentment is great gain. [1 Timothy 6:6]

As I was browsing through a morning newspaper, my eyes caught an article with the following headline: You can't stabilise a sinking ship, 'whatever it takes.' The writer of this article was commenting on the efforts by the European Union to bailout Greece from bankruptcy and to prevent the collapse of EURO currency. The massive bailout effort is going to be very costly to the European Union - 750 billion Euro (or US 1 trillion)! The writer further commented that, in spite of this massive amount, the effort is no economic panacea and it can, at most, fix the symptoms but not the real causes.

Although this is an article about Greece and the state of European Union’s monetary system, the writer is absolutely right in her comment by using a sinking ship as an illustration – when ship a is sinking, especially right in the middle of an ocean, there is nothing much we can do. Perhaps, the best that could be done is to delay its sinking by jettisoning the cargoes and personal belongings as quick as possible so that people on board can have more time to escape.

Without any doubt, all problems relating to national financial crisis are due to too much public borrowing, excessive spending, changing the laws to legitimize the selfish plan of a few elites in order to continue for them to be in the government, implementing short-term plan for immediate gain at the expense of long-term pain, favoring or even endorsing questionable trade practices by big corporations, especially the financial institutions. You don’t need to be a ‘rocket economist’ to predict what the final results would be when a financial meltdown occurs because the global financial meltdown just less than 2 years ago is the best testimony and if anything can go by it will occur again because people never learn from history. Together with the financial meltdown two years ago and the current oil lick in the Gulf of Mexico, these are clearly made-man catastrophic events telling us that there is a total breakdown of whole system of governance both in the public and in the private institutions, and no one is taking any responsibility but everyone is pointing finger at one another.

Quite unfortunately when a national crisis happens, it will affect thousands if not millions of people. Factories are going to close down, people are going to lose their jobs, there will be high inflation which will further reduce the purchasing power of people, homes are going to be repossessed because of overdue loan mortgages, etc. People right in the middle of financial difficult time tends to wake up and say to themselves – let’s us all be more contended with life; let us live our life as simple as possible; we should save more for the raining days. But, too often, when the crisis is over, everybody forgets about the bad time and the cycle of indiscriminate spending, of discontentment, will just repeat. Almost on a daily basis, we now see how people are snapping up new homes, new properties as if bad time will never happen again!

Without God, we all will seem to believe that the best way to live a contented life is to take pride in our own tastes, and believe what we spend our time and money are ‘really great.’ But we all know that such things are only relative, the contentment that we derived from the material things and possessions is going to be short-lived and will, at most, last for a season, perhaps a year or two or, most probably, three years. The gifts which were ‘great’ on our birthday lie gathering dust in the corner by the new birthday. The new ‘great’ car that we just bought will start to breakdown in one or two years.

Godliness is New Testament shorthand for truly living the Christian life. It is the life of discipleship, of denying ourselves, of picking up the cross and following Lord Jesus day by day. Godliness is spiritual gain, and if we are contended with what we have gained from God, this contentment will give us the peace and the joy that cannot be affected by any situation. Our contentment must not be dependent upon our outward circumstances, our environment, or our possession. Jesus has told us to be at peace with ourselves, with our friends, with our enemies and, of course, with God Himself no matter what our own situation (John 14:27). Our Lord knows that we are in the world of troubles and has given us those words which are not just comforting words but real promise. God will never fail or disappoint us when we seek contentment in Him and His Kingdom. By His mercy and grace, what He has promised, He will deliver no matter what appallingly difficult our lives may be; we are still bound to be in content!

We are told in Job 1:21 that naked we come into this world and naked we will depart from this world. We thus need to constantly be reminded, firstly, to recognize the temporalness of every material object in the world and secondly, to see the folly of being dominated by the ache to get rich. We have no right before God to be discontented, to strive for material possessions because of our circumstances. It is not just utterly wrong for the believer. It is as sinful as not praying. It is as sinful as stealing. It is as sinful as hating your brothers without cause. It is a dangerous sin of disobedience. It contradicts all that is said in the gospel to the sinner, that we have come to Christ and He has given us rest (Matthew 11:28). Our Saviour has not stepped down from the heavenly throne of the universe just for today or tomorrow. Every day of our life on earth is His workmanship. Every day that is given to us from the hands of our Heavenly Father is a great gain if we know how to live our lives in contentment. Let’s us therefore jettison our longing for more possessions, for more material gains, for greater prestige, for higher position, for power, and instead to walk in full obedience and in one accord with His will. This is the only way to fix the causes of our discontentment and ungodly living. Just put all our burdens to Him because we know whom we have believed and we are convinced that He is able to guard what we have entrusted to Him until the very last day (2 Timothy 1:12). God will never not fail us and just like what He has done to Noah and Lot, He too will deliver us if we are just as obedient.

Will you send your son to die for a group of [people call Jews? When Yehweh can go and burnt down Sodom and Gomoro he knows how to kill man unhumanly so how can he send his 'only begotten son' to suffer and die for you? Only no brain dickhead believe so.

If God is so mghty that he don't have to put his 'Words' down or his history written.

Leave the Jewish God to the Jews if you are not Jews. There is nothing Holy about the Bible. If the Bible is holy the Jews will agree with you so. Go and pary to your ancestors like your forefathers did for thousands of generations and you will be doing fine.

Jesus is a teacher rabbi not God. If you want to be believe that Jesus is God then add a prefix to christianirty and call yourself Paul Chirstian. Don't get sucked by the Italians or their forefathers known as 'Roman'.

Dear tanwahtiu,

Reading from your comment, I am so happy for you and your family. You must be a very very filial child and grand-child. I am really happy for you parents and your foreparents.

Just like to put the record right. The messages that I am posting here are for Christians although I do hope non-Christians read them. However, if non-Christians find them inappropriate because of their own religious belief system, just skip or simply ignore my postings. There are million of other things in the internet to read and I am sure they can just skip this one.

As believer of Jesus, we just want to encourage one another and one of the best ways is to share our own experience and what we read to some of our fellow brothers and sisters.

Let's come back to your point, nevertheless. For me, I strongly believe that we must honour and take care of our parents when they are alive. Provide them the love, the physical needs and when they are sick pay for them medical bills and if they are incapacitated, and if we can afford, provide to them the nursing needs or a domestice help. Like there is a saying, don't cry over spilled milk, so there is no point to put in front of our parents' photos all kind of food because at the end, honestly, these food will end into our own stomach.

I am grateful to my Jesus because both my parents were converted to Christianity. They got converted at quite an old age and I really can see their peace before they left this perishing world. By way of short testimony, if you care to just read - the conversion of my father was nothing short of a miracle. One day, while I was reading my Bible, my dad came and just ask me a simple question, "Is the church ourtside our house the same as the one in your Bible?" I say "Yes". The following Sunday, he just took a bus to the church which was about 3 bus stops away from where we lived. Thank to God. The pastor and the elders came and received my father and he was converted after a short fellowship with the Christians in the church. The church was St James, an Anglican church along the Hollad Road. I therefore don't need to offer any prayer or 'food' to them because Jesus is now taking care of them.

Another point I want to put on record - I don't think I want to use the blog here to debate with others on whether my God is the right one or yours. As mentioned, the messages are meant for encourage fellow Christians. If you need people to debate with you on religion, perhaps you want to start a new thread.

Hope you are ok with this. Again, I am very happy for your parents and your foreparents - you are indeed a very filial child and grandchild. But a little advice, it would even be better if you can provide them all their needs while they are still alive (that is if you have not done so).

I read your blog with interest but at time I see you are brain washing many people. You should not use this blog as a pretext your are not evangelisng. If you are a pastor please stay away from this blog to recruit non members.

Most your your writing is about fear, loss and your God is the only God that can help others. Look, the world was as it is full of problems before the formation of Jewish race, Jesus and the Romans.

The Chinese were 4,000 years before the Jews was here. If you are a Chinese by descent, I would urge you to pray to your ancestors and stop spreading Christianity in ths blog.

50% of the POMs in England has left Christianity religion because they begin to realise the Holy Bible is not Holy scriptures with many fabricated lies and deceptions.

The POMs who prints Bibles so that the many people can have access to the Holy book (was Holy becasue only the priest can read from the book) was to expose the leis in the book.

I do read the Bible and go to church to listen to sermons. The most common things I heard in sermons were obedience to the church (not to God), recruitment of new members (to get more donations) and more you give more you get from God (as if).

Most priests who read the sermons only interested to read texts from Paul which speak more about the church then God.

Look, do more research about the Bible than blankly quotes from the Bible. It is said it took 1500 years to write the Bible and most Christian were proud of it. If the Bible can take 1500 yeears to write than means over a period of 1500 years how many cut and paste, text modified, put in take out were done in the book. Therefore how can it be Holy and is God's Word.

If you are not a Jews but a Chinese, I urge you to just pray to your ancestors for their blessing and that will do just fine.

I am not a pastor, neither am I a full-time church worker. I am not a member of the Anglican Church which my father attended. I am not recruiting any church member. And the last thing is I am not asking for any donations! In fact, I have posted a message on this subject - Prosperity Preaching. I am 'dead against' churches asking monies. Monies must be given to help the poor and not given to build huge buildings, purchase private jets, luxury cars for pastors, etc.

If you think that just praying to ancestors will be fine, then you just go ahead. What I believe is that when our parents, our grandparents are alive, we must take good care of them. After they died, we cannot do anything. No amount of praying to them can give any blessing. One of the best blessings is that when they are alive we must take good care of our parents and our grandparents (or great-grand parents). If they like to eat roast duck, buy for them now. If they want to eat durian, buy for them now. If they want to go for a holiday and if you can afford pay for their trip now. Please don't wait and offering these to them after they died.

I don't think I want to debate with you because in the end, it's our heart that counts. Again, I want to say that I am not recruiting any members for churches. The reason for me writing is to encourage Christian brothers and sisters to walk closer with our God. I am doing this because of my personal experience. I read quite alot from other writers and I just want to give back what I have received. I find this is a very good way to encourage fellow Christians and if you are not, just simply ignore my messages.

I don't know which church you go and anyway, I am not interested to know. If you think ancestor worship is the way for people, just start your own blog and tell people of your blessings that you can get from worshipping your ancestors.

Could we just end here? And if you want, just start your own blog on "Ancestor Worship". I don't really care what you do...actually.

This is the living hope we have in Jesus..the hope of eternal life. While on earth, at least we can taste the peace and the joy for knowing Him.

Jesus is not God either he is Son of God, he is a Jewish rabbi. When you read the Bible do not stop at the book, find out what happen after Jesus died. The story of Jesus is not about God being killed by Man.

Many years afer Jesus was hanged by the Romans, the Jews continued their revolt to rid of the Roman. There was a Jeish revolt war in AD66 - 73 where millions of Jews were slaughterd by thr Roman Emperor Nero.

This Jewish reovlt in AD66-77 is like the current Afgan war with the US. Bin Laden is like Jesus trying to free the afgan race from the US.

Come as you are with no worry, go as you are with no worry too. You don't have to worry after you leave this world there will be another world waiting for you or is there a heavenly kingdom or God awaiting for you. If there is noe, you will be worrying for your parents.friends, siblings who are not Christian will not go to Jesus heavenly kingdom. So there is nothing only emptiness after you die and.

If there is God, he is so mighty he don't need to put in writing or Words, either does God need a history to tell you who he was, who he created and what promises he made which is up to his time to deliver (Abraham story).

Just pray to yout ancestors is good enough and they will blessed you.

Today’s Scripture Reading [May 23, 2010]

Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the peoples: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. [Hebrews 7:27. KJV]

In almost every religion, worshipping of celestial beings is performed through symbols and imageries or offering oblations which usually involved mutilations of animals or even human. We have also heard of stories of primitive tribal people sacrificing young children as part of the rituals to appease their gods. These rituals or practices were apparently passed down from their ancestors. Even to this day, many religious rituals have been kept up and some are modified or remodeled “to keep up with modern age.” The importance and the significance of religious rituals can best be summarized by this comment written by some religious writers: “Religion without ritual becomes insipid." Depending on the religious belief, these rituals which are performed to appease gods (or the dead family members) can be in many forms from animal to human sacrifices, or performing certain rites like bathing in a river to cleanse away one’s sin, abstaining from eating certain food for a period of time, chanting of prayer, burning of religious artifacts like ‘houses’ and ‘cars’ which are usually made of paper, and so on. Needless to say, some of these sacrifices, especially involving human sacrifices, may be performed against the will of those who are being made to sacrifice. Most of these rites have become an integral part of the culture and they are so entrenched that not participating in them is just unthinkable.

In the Old Testament, we were told of the ritual performed by the Jews who were (and many still are) very faithful observance of ancient Jewish rites. Just like many other religions, these rituals are an integral part of Judaism and the Hebrew culture and, among others, requiring the sacrifices of goats or sheep. Typically, a sacrificial goat is paraded through the streets as it was led away. As the multitude of people got more and more involved, some people would follow the goat and reach out and pull wool from the poor animal, poke at it with sticks while others spit on it. Finally, the goat was mercilessly killed. The whole intent or the motive was to make the goat as scapegoat so as to “remove the sin of the people.” The description here may be an oversimplified version of the actual rite taking place, but the main underlining reason for doing it is quite clear – to atone the sin of the people by offering a goat as a substitute.

Jesus, the Son of God, came two thousand years ago and His main purpose is to come as sin offering by the sacrifice of His own blood and His life for all sinners, worthless people like us. It is this Jesus who makes forgiveness possible, and forgiveness is the taking away of sin. He is pictured as a sacrificial lamb in the New Testament. John the Baptist, declared, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world (John 1:29).” Jesus died on the cross for us to make atonement for our sin. He is our scapegoat! He is our substitute!

As we compare the cross of Jesus to other rituals and ceremonies, let us never forget one overwhelming difference between them. The sacrifice of a goat (or any other animals) is not a costly sacrifice. On the Cross at Calvary, though, we see God giving His beloved Son! Jesus came not offering the blood of animals, but His own precious blood and He did this willingly. As He Himself said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13).” This is exactly what God did for us. Jesus shows His love for us in that while we were yet sinners He died of us (Romans 5:8).

It should be obvious that Jesus' death was seen as a fulfillment of the Old Testament and nothing could be further from this truth. In fact, the Jews were not really expecting a crucified Messiah and they have great difficulty to accept Jesus as the Messiah. Ironically, the death of Jesus on the cross has become the stumble block to Jews and foolishness of the gentiles, and the world at large (1 Corinthians 1:23). Since He had died on a Roman cross, this was scandalous to the many Jews. Although many Jews especially their religious leaders were well-equipped with the Old Testament texts, they failed to recognize Jesus as the Messiah as foretold in the various books of the Old Testament such as Psalm 22 and Isaiah 53. For many others, the cross of Jesus represents nothing more than a form of western religion, invented by western people for western people. Many people, especially children, are waiting anxiously for December to arrive so that they can celebrate Christmas but many are ignorant of who Jesus is. To them, Christmas is a time of giving, merrying, drinking and eating. In some ‘christian’ sects the crucifixion of Jesus Christ is being re-enacted with a live human hanging on a huge wooden cross and paraded along the streets as part of the celebration during Christmas, Good Friday or Easter Day! Should we as born-again Christians participate in such rituals? You must pray about this and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. As for me, I would not participate in any of these events because Jesus has done it all for us!

The historical crucifixion of Jesus was described in great details in the Bible’s four gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). No amount of re-enactment whatsoever can truly depict the actual crucifixion event that took place two thousands years ago. At the crucifixion site at Golgotha, the Roman soldiers laid the cross on the ground and the soldiers nailed His hands and feet to it with big spikes. The cross was then lifted and dropped into a hole in the ground. The entire weight of the body tore at the spikes, and the pain was almost beyond endurance. The blood began to pound through our Savior’s body and He became a living dead. Since Jesus had been mercilessly whipped before they took Him to be crucified, He was already very weak from loss of blood. His face was so grotesquely mutilated that He was unrecognizable (Isaiah 52:14)! It was one of the worst methods of punishment that the world has ever witnessed. Mercifully, Jesus lived only a few hours on the cross (although there were historical records of other crucified criminals who had to endure the suffering and had known to have been alive for several days before they died!)

Even with all the pain, Jesus thought of others rather than Himself. Pleading for God’s mercy on behalf of the Roman soldiers, His words from the cross were, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do (Luke 23:24)" and He also thought of His mother, who stood by the cross weeping and He asked His beloved friend John to take care of her. As the terrible afternoon wore on and as His pain increased He finally moaned, "I thirst", and was offered vinegar but He refused to drink it. God finally blotted out the sun as if to let us know how serious and black our sins are. Out of that blackness Jesus cried, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46)". His final words expressed His complete surrender to the will of God as He said, "It is finished; Father into Thy hands I commend my spirit (John 19:30)". He then bowed His head and died.

It is therefore very important that when we look up onto the Cross of Jesus we must be reminded that:

(1) The Cross is the basis of Christ total defeat of Satan.
(2) The Cross is the costly price that Christ paid with His blood to purchase us.
(3) The Cross is a firm confirmation that we are now owned by God and we are His property.
(4) The Cross is the ultimate demonstration of God’s love and our value to Him.
(5) The Cross tells us how horrific and awful our sin really is.
(6) The Cross fulfills the demand of God’s justice for us.
(7) The Cross is the final sacrificial act of God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and hence we do not need to perform any more rituals or sacrifices because God has accepted in full, once and for all, the sacrificial Lamb of God, Jesus Christ as our substitute for all our sins.
(8) The Cross effectively clothes us with the Righteousness of God.
(9) The Cross is fulfillment of the Old Testament’s prophecy and God’s faithfulness to deliver all His promises.
(10) The Cross is our only living hope in Christ Jesus and without the Cross we will all perish.

Love, forgiveness, mercy, righteousness, peacemaker, meekness, eternity…these are not just words that seem peculiar or unique to Christianity but they are the very character of Christ. As we look at His birth, His life, His death and His resurrection, we can truly see the mighty work of mercy and love that Jesus has showered upon us. God has done His part. He has finished what is needed to be done in order to restore our relationship with Him. The Cross changes everything the world has ever known. Let us therefore recommit ourselves to Him because only in Him we find eternal life.

[No claim of absolute originality is made for this message. As one man said, "I milk a lot of cows, but I churn my own butter." Please use the message here as the Lord leads, but nothing on the message must be used for profit!]

" Don't agree. Jesus is not Son of God. If He is (present tense) then there will be 2 Gods One that sent his son to be killed, and one is the father. So how come you say in the 10 commandment there is noly 1 God" Dont't tell me about the Trinity to claim he is One the same God -father, son and the holy ghost.

It is this Jesus who makes forgiveness possible, and forgiveness is the taking away of sin. He is pictured as a sacrificial lamb in the New Testament. The man Jesus did not died on the cross. God has created animals for man to kill and present to God as food. So why does God need to scarifice his son to be killed by man and be killed worst than man killed anmials.

Brother tanwahtiu,

You are so clever! Just continue blaspheming the One Truth God if you think that's what you want to do. As a praying Christian, I can only pray that one day you will come to sense.

One humble request...could you start your own blog rather than using this one because, as I have already said, my messages are for Christians. I don't care what you or other believe in because that's the choice for you all to decide but don't deface my message. If you think that praying to your dead ancestors can bring blessing - just go ahead. If you think that burning a paper rocket can bring them to the moon, just burn more to them, if you think that they need a mobile phone, just burn one for them, if you think that they need a swimming pool for their home, just burn one with a big swimming pool for them. But don't deface my messages - they are for Christians and certainly not for clever people like you.

God bless.

Dear Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ,

Have a great blessed week ahead.

Let's us give thanks and praise God for His Son, Jesus - the Name above all names. I have just picked up this video and would like to share with you. This is the Name that we must not live without. Pray that this video will bless you and your family.

This is a kind of intimidation Christians always give to gentiles. Please refrain from doing so if you are a good Christian.

One humble request...could you start your own blog rather than using this one because, as I have already said, my messages are for Christians.

My question to you is on what authority can you make up your messages. You said you are either a pastor, member of any church, or belong to the church where your father was.

What demomination did you belong? There are 240 of them and 3,000 more in USA. Depending what denomination you are from each demomination have different views of the Bible.

As such you have to declare your position to us. Some of your messages are blasphemy other religions and utterly bias. You put fear and worry in your mesaages which has negative view on life.

I suggest before you publish anything please get a qualified pastor to endorse it. Pastors are qualified preachers and gone through training to write Bible messages.

Let us fix our eyes on JESUS,
the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy
set before him endured the cross, scorning its
shame and sat down at the right of the throne of GOD.
Hebrews 12:2

You don't need to be a pastor to write and to share God's message. As long as you believe in the Bible, repent of our sins, believe that Jesus died for you and have truly found love from God, you should or rather you must share God's Word with others. This is a commandment from Lord Jesus. I don't want to consider myself a good Christian but rather Bible-believing Christians. I am a sinner, a great sinner and only Jesus can save me. As Bible-believing Christians, we are suppose to share God's Word and nothing in the Bible tells us that our sharing needs to be verified by others like pastors.

Please note that many of the writers of the Bible were not educated people. They were from fishermen to peasants to shepherds. So, there is no such thing as whether you are qualified to write or not qualify to write when it comes to sharing Bible, the Word of God. All truly born-again Christians should share God's Word otherwise they shouldn't call themselves born-again Christians. Bible tells us the we must not be ashame of the gospel and we must openly admit that we accept Jesus. Jesus says whoever deny Me, I will also deny Him. Hence, I don't need any pastor or any other bible scholars to verify or validate my messages. God is my witness and I will account to Him. If I write anything that is not true, I will face His judgment. I have never wanted to claim 'credit' and if you were to have noticed, I have always acknowledged my source where acknowledgement is due. In fact, there were quite a few articles I just copied it and shared with others and I have fully acknowledge the source sometime even the hypertext where they can get the message themselves. The intention of my writing (again I have said many many times) is to gloriy God. For us as sinners, we have nothing for God. This is one of the best way to give sometime back to God by sharing His Words. God is very pleased when His children to this. So, I will not stop writing - sorry to disappoint you.

In fact, I have taken your comment with great compliment because you have said I have somehow created fear into people. All true messages from God must have an element of fear - but this must be godly fear. As the Bible says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7)". Again, I don't know much about you and I don't think I want to know anything about you, but the plain truth is that truth hurts and sometimes it hurts deeply. I say this because of my own experience. It is only through godly hurts, godly fear that we will come to know the love of God and His Word, and more importantly, come to realise how sinful we are! Many messages in the churches and outside the churches are telling people what they want to hear. These sugar-coated messages good for the ears but very bad for the soul. One of my motives here is to bridge the gap for these sugar-coated messages and the not-so-nice messages. For us as Christians, complacency must be eliminated. We have to come to God with His truth.

I don't know where you get the idea that I am not a member of a church. I am a church member and my church is 100% Bible-believing, evangelical, non-denominational church, and it is not one of the so-called mega-churches! I have attended this same church for 30 years and the reason why I don't want to disclose my church is because I am not recruiting any church members neither am I asking donations for my church. I have said many many times, I write because I want to encourage other Christians to walk with Jesus, nothing more nothing less. I find it very encouraging to read messages from God written by other sincere, truly born-again Christians, regardless of who the writers are, even if it is written by a 10-year old boy I will find it encouraging if the message is strictly based on the Word of God.

I have labeled you as clever people because seemingly you have implied that only fools like us believe in Bible (but certainly not from God because Bible tells us that 'Fools say that there is no God.') So, forgive me if you are not a clever person.

Frankly, I hate to spend my time debating with you. Let's stop here and as mentioned, please start your own blog and tell people about ancestor worshipping, how they can get the blessing from do it. That's your business.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with my fellow Christian brothers and sisters the following that was just sent to me by one my Christian friends and if this message is not for you, just ignore it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change.. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change ..'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'
'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts ; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits..
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Please note that many of the writers of the Bible were not educated people.

The writers in the Bible were not educated, says who? anything to back up your claim? When was Gospel of Mark written? and Matthew, Luke and John? These people who wrote about Jesus, the Bible as a book does not exist yet. These people wrote about man called Jesus through the preaching of Paul. Who wrote Gospel of Matthew no one knew but they know it was not Matthew, Jesus deciple.

[As I have said, the Bible is not the only book you should just take references to as God's Word. You must also open up your mind to read what other scholars (professors in universites specialising in Bible Studies) have to say about the Holy Book.

See! that is what I meant if your messages were not endorsed by Pastor (a qualifed Bible study student). A Pastor will be able to correct you so you don't mislead others!]

They were from fishermen to peasants to shepherds. So, there is no such thing as whether you are qualified to write or not qualify to write when it comes to sharing Bible, the Word of God.

Sharing of Bible must be not mislead others.

God is my witness and I will account to Him. If I write anything that is not true, I will face His judgment.

That is way I am here to intervene - to save you from God's judgement before it is too late.

In fact, I have taken your comment with great compliment because you have said I have somehow created fear into people. All true messages from God must have an element of fear - but this must be godly fear.

Don't agree with you, that is why I am here to intervene. you should not brainwash people to 'fear' and there is not such thing as Godly fear! Your writing on 'fear' is very carnal, not spiritual, so to speak.

As the Bible says, "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7)".

Hello! get your pastor to interpret this? no guessing please!

Again, I don't know much about you and I don't think I want to know anything about you, but the plain truth is that truth hurts and sometimes it hurts deeply.

What is it the hurt it deeply?

I don't know where you get the idea that I am not a member of a church. I am a church member and my church is 100% Bible-believing, evangelical, non-denominational church, and it is not one of the so-called mega-churches!

What is wrong with mega churches? You seem to discriminate the church (becuase they are able to recruit thousand of members) and they are also Jesus believer.

I have attended this same church for 30 years and the reason why I don't want to disclose my church is because I am not recruiting any church members neither am I asking donations for my church.

Then you are not doing your church God's work. You should help your church to increase memberships (recruitment) and make your wealthy and prosper like the mega church. Why are you shooting 'blank bullets'.

I have labeled you as clever people because seemingly you have implied that only fools like us believe in Bible (but certainly not from God because Bible tells us that 'Fools say that there is no God.') So, forgive me if you are not a clever person.

You are not a good christian but wolf in sheep's skin. A pot called a kettle black is not a good God fearing Christian.

Watch your messages if it was not endorsed by your pastor. Preaching without proper guidences, if you want to use blogging, are dangerous and can be misleading. Make sure all messages are spirtual but not carnal thinking.
