THinking of buying cheap scooter

Extra alert don't ensure till you live to a ripe age of 90 .

Any idiot can run you over . There are so many around !

Riding bike undoubtedly carries higher risk if you compare it to driving a car.

But driving a car sometimes doesn't enusure you live up to 90 either..

My experience tells me that the bigger the bike, the least prone to risk it will be. So get a 200cc above one...

Yeah bigger bikes are more stable & have greater visibility on the roads but more expensive and have higer entry bar.

Do they still have a graduated bike licence based on engine capacity & experience of the rider:confused:

what about the old yamaha RX-100 or RX-K? Now that a classic, super cheap, basically no maintainence and indestrutible. I think it no longer in production, but i wont be surprise many still can be find in second hand bike shop.
Go to LTA website, check the auction date, maybe u can find a cheap one from the list of bikes kenna chong-gong by LTA.

I suspect SG is the only country that breaks the bike license into 3 stages:
2b - 0 to 200cc
2a - 201 to 400cc
2 - 401cc and above

To ride a bike above 400cc, you need to go for the course and test 3 times.

It's all about making money..

Although rain will be problem, I am thinking buy a cheap scooter for transport

I have tried Honda Phantom, low seat and good to manoevure but am thinking more like Vespa or Singapore Post type of scooter

Any recommendations, thanks

That's dumb, those laws penalise Spore motor cyclists.

The biggest causes of deaths among motor cyclists is caused by accidents between motorist & bikers. No matter how skilled the motor cylist is, he's at the mercy of a dumb & careless motorists.

There might be careless bikers of course but the majority must be Malaysians who can only afford those small & cheap motorcycles. Those Malaysians buy their bikes in Malaysia where those restrictions don't apply

Get this one. Cheap and good.

Piaggio not reliable! last time, a friend riding it always complain that the engine belt have to be changed quite often cos' it made of rubber.

Not reliable ? You ride this scooter to Genting Highlands....in less than 3 hours ! And no Malaysian traffic police can catch you.

sure or not? this bike is only 250cc.i am very sure you can make it to Genting Highlands but will not make it back. Our LTA are using this bikes on the road also.

But this scooter quite safe cos of the 2 wheels infront, prevent from skidding. But if you want to squeeze thru cars during jam,can be quite difficult.

Malaysia no need to send their car/bike to check yearly as in Singapore after 3 year. Yearly must sent to Inspection.
So can modify whatever they want lo..

3 wheel paggio bike can reach Genting in 3hr from Custom. I dont believe. I personally had experience riding bike to Genting before.
Average speed need to be 150km/hr. Because need to pump petrol half way and some need to slow down.
My fastest from custom to Ipoh 4hr 40min one stop(about 10 min to pump petrol and toilet relief). That trip some my speed ranging from 120km~190km/hr. Most of the time 150km/h.
