han armies with massive contingents of cavalry under the rule of emperor wu (141-87 bc) conquered what is today known as the tarim basin in central asia. as a result, the silk road was established to the west via this region. to the north is the tian shan mountain range and to the south are the kunlun mountains. the basin is a natural terrain for horseback warfare and conquest. it will make sun ho proud.
Your knowledge of the Tarim Basin is akin to your knowledge of the Bay area, like you're staying there. I would never have guessed you're actually staying in a rented room at Bedok with a forum room-mate.
