SINGAPORE — A woman who went viral for her TikTok videos in which she argued with the Singapore police after causing a disturbance at a hospital has been sentenced on Wednesday (25 October) to five weeks and five days in jail, along with a fine of $600.
CNA reported that Han Feizi, a 29-year-old Chinese citizen, pleaded guilty to five charges. These included using force and alarming a security guard at her condominium, using abusive language with a hospital worker, engaging in public nuisance, and making a false statement on her work permit application.
Three more charges were considered during her sentencing.
From condo altercation, hospital havoc and false work permit application
On 3 October, Han was found squatting in the ground floor lobby of her condominium, The Sail@ Marina Bay, by two male security guards, who offered to assist her.
However, Han became aggressive toward one of the guards, pointing her finger at him aggressively. The situation escalated further in the elevator, where Han attacked the guard, necessitating his restraint. During the altercation, she also repeatedly hurled vulgarities at him.
The second incident occurred on 10 October, when Han was taken to Singapore General Hospital's accident and emergency department after a supposed traffic accident involving a Grab driver rolling over her foot.
Upon arrival, she directed profanities at the nurses, prompting an employee to call the police. Han, who had consumed a bottle of alcohol, was attended to by medical professionals and placed in a wheelchair.
While at the hospital, she created a disturbance by loudly demanding for the Grab driver, claiming he had abandoned her. When a hospital staff member tried to explain the administrative process and asked her to wear a mask, Han threw the mask on the floor and continued shouting vulgarities.
CNA reported the judge as saying there was no excuse for Han's behaviour, describing it as loutish, belligerent and aggressive.
According to court documents from the Attorney-General's Chambers and the Ministry of Manpower, Han applied in August for a clerk position at a company called KDL Elements, after her student pass application was rejected.
However, prosecutors said that she had never intended to work as a clerk for the company. Instead, she came to work as a hostess and, in her own words, "the only reason she wanted to enter Singapore was for fun".
She entered Singapore in July with an in-principle approval, and her work permit was subsequently issued in August. As of now, she has yet to fulfil any work duties at KDL Elements.
Her apology and plea for leniency
Han, who had been in custody for almost two weeks, followed the court proceedings from a women's prison via Zoom without legal representation.CNA reported that the Mandarin interpreter conveyed Han's statements to the court during mitigation.
She expressed her "deepest apologies and remorse" for her actions, adding that it was her first time living in a foreign country.
"I'm not familiar with the law in Singapore, I should not have reacted in the way that I did," she told the court.
She described her state as "frantic and helpless" after the accident with the Grab driver, and her shouting in the hospital was an expression of her distress.
In her plea, she requested leniency and the opportunity to return to her family to nurse her injuries. She said three of her closest relatives are battling cancer, and her initial motivation for coming to Singapore was to provide financial support and alleviate her family's hardships.
Han went on to express her reflections during her time in custody and conveyed her sincere apologies for her comments on social media and the videos she had posted. She also acknowledged the inconvenience and trouble her actions had caused others.

According to Section 10(1) of the Act, if convicted, a foreigner working without a valid work permit can be fined up to S$20,000, or imprisoned for up to two years, or both.
Under Section 22(1)(d) of the Act, providing false or misleading information or statements when applying for or renewing a work permit can result in a fine of up to S$20,000, imprisonment for up to two years, or both.
Per the allegations, on August 11th of this year, the defendant purportedly misrepresented herself as a secretary at KDL Elements Private Limited in her work permit application.
Another accusation outlined her employment as a freelance hostess at different venues from August 1st to October 11th this year, conducted without a valid work permit.
Following the initial hearing on October 13th, the defendant was granted bail by the judge, although it is understood that she remained in custody due to her inability to secure a guarantor for her release.
The judge postponed the case until Wednesday to allow the defendant to enter a plea.
The case has not only captured attention on Singaporean social media but has also sparked discussions on the Chinese social media platform Douyin.
Numerous Chinese influencers and netizens have actively commented on the case, with some calling on the 29-year-old to adhere to Singaporean laws and urging her to treat all individuals equally, irrespective of their occupation.
Particularly noteworthy is the insight provided by a Chinese influencer from Macau, who has shed light on the reality of China’s “grey industry” and its expansion into other countries, such as Singapore.
In the video, the influencer, known by the name “Macau’s Xiaoping (澳门小颖)” noted that the 29-year-old accused has 250,000 followers on Douyin, yet is described as “presenting an outwardly decent appearance but exhibiting a troubling personality.”
Reportedly residing in a luxurious apartment opposite ByteDance’s headquarters and driving a McLaren, Han Feizi’s extravagant lifestyle has come under scrutiny.
In a previous statement dated 13th October, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) revealed that on October 3rd, Han was allegedly inebriated and was escorted by The Sail at Marina Bay’s security team to her unit.
It was alleged that she pushed one of the security officers on the shoulder, verbally abused him, and pulled his tie.
This condominium, if leased, demands S$6800 per month. If purchased, it carries a hefty price tag of S$14 million.
Given her status as a work permit holder who claimed to be employed as a clerk, questions arise concerning her ability to afford such a lavish lifestyle.
“What is the ‘grey industry’? It refers to those who exploit legal loopholes to engage in activities that harm society and are illegal, ” explained Xiaoping.

That is 9.8mg higher than the acceptable level in accordance with the local law.

SINGAPORE - A woman who gained infamy after she uploaded a video of herself arguing with the police in a hospital was deported to China on Wednesday, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
She is also barred from re-entering Singapore, ICA added.
On Oct 25, Han Feizi was sentenced to five weeks and five days’ jail and fined $600, after pleading guilty to charges involving two separate incidents of using abusive language against security officers and a Singapore General Hospital (SGH) employee. The 29-year-old Chinese national also broke manpower laws by lying in her work permit application.
One of the incidents took place at SGH on Oct 10. The episode went viral after Han posted an 11-minute video on Chinese social media platform Douyin on the same day, in which she was seen arguing with two investigation officers (IOs).
The IOs showed up at SGH after receiving a call for help from the hospital regarding a verbally abusive patient.
Han had earlier hurled abusive remarks at a patient service associate, who had advised her to wear a mask. The police said Han also allegedly used vulgarities in Mandarin against one of the IOs, and refused to give a statement.
On Oct 3, Han was involved in a separate incident at The Sail at Marina Bay, a condominium in Marina Boulevard. When a security supervisor at the condo offered to escort her to her unit after seeing that she was squatting at the lift lobby, Han turned aggressive, shouting vulgarities at him and pushing him repeatedly.
Han admitted that in both incidents, she was drunk at the time of her offence.
She apologised in court on Oct 25 for “causing inconvenience to everyone” after her sentence was read out. She had been in remand for 13 days before the court hearing.
Han entered Singapore on at least four occasions since 2019. She was issued a work pass on Aug 12 after stating in her application that she would be hired as a clerk, but she was later found to have moonlighted as a hostess.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said that Han was prosecuted for, first, making a false declaration in her work pass application, and second, for working illegally as a self-employed foreigner.
“Han pleaded guilty to the first charge and was sentenced to three weeks’ imprisonment. The second charge was taken into consideration for the purpose of sentencing,” MOM said on Thursday.
“Following the conviction, Han’s work pass has been revoked and she is permanently barred from working in Singapore,” MOM added.

SINGAPORE - A woman who gained infamy after she uploaded a video of herself arguing with the police in a hospital was deported to China on Wednesday, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
She is also barred from re-entering Singapore, ICA added.
On Oct 25, Han Feizi was sentenced to five weeks and five days’ jail and fined $600, after pleading guilty to charges involving two separate incidents of using abusive language against security officers and a Singapore General Hospital (SGH) employee. The 29-year-old Chinese national also broke manpower laws by lying in her work permit application.
One of the incidents took place at SGH on Oct 10. The episode went viral after Han posted an 11-minute video on Chinese social media platform Douyin on the same day, in which she was seen arguing with two investigation officers (IOs).
The IOs showed up at SGH after receiving a call for help from the hospital regarding a verbally abusive patient.
Han had earlier hurled abusive remarks at a patient service associate, who had advised her to wear a mask. The police said Han also allegedly used vulgarities in Mandarin against one of the IOs, and refused to give a statement.
On Oct 3, Han was involved in a separate incident at The Sail at Marina Bay, a condominium in Marina Boulevard. When a security supervisor at the condo offered to escort her to her unit after seeing that she was squatting at the lift lobby, Han turned aggressive, shouting vulgarities at him and pushing him repeatedly.
Han admitted that in both incidents, she was drunk at the time of her offence.
She apologised in court on Oct 25 for “causing inconvenience to everyone” after her sentence was read out. She had been in remand for 13 days before the court hearing.
Han entered Singapore on at least four occasions since 2019. She was issued a work pass on Aug 12 after stating in her application that she would be hired as a clerk, but she was later found to have moonlighted as a hostess.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said that Han was prosecuted for, first, making a false declaration in her work pass application, and second, for working illegally as a self-employed foreigner.
“Han pleaded guilty to the first charge and was sentenced to three weeks’ imprisonment. The second charge was taken into consideration for the purpose of sentencing,” MOM said on Thursday.
“Following the conviction, Han’s work pass has been revoked and she is permanently barred from working in Singapore,” MOM added.
