An Indonesian tycoon has failed to unfreeze $93 million of his assets pending the outcome of a divorce suit.

Mr Nurdian Cuaca, 44, and Madam Jamie Chua Xin Yin, 36, a Singaporean, had been married for over 15 years, before filing for divorce in February last year over 'unreasonable behaviour'. They have two children.

Mr Cuaca's assets include two houses in Sentosa Cove and in Hong Kong worth $14.6 million, $79.2 million in shares in a private company, his wine collection and his three cars - a Lamborghini, a Porsche and a Ferrari.

Madam Chua was a former flight stewardess and is currently the managing director of the Manolo Blahnik Singapore shoe boutique.

She is also frequently spotted at high society events in Singapore.

Madam Chua is seeking $450,000 in monthly maintenance from Mr Cuaca.

Her lawyers had applied for an asset freeze and interim maintenance order because Mr Cuaca had reduced her monthly maintenance amount and cancelled her supplementary card.

In explaining the decision to freeze Mr Cuaca's assets, the judge said the latter was found to have transferred $3.2 million from a bank here to Indonesia.

Mr Cuaca had claimed this was monies that belonged to his sister, a Miss Risna.

However, the judge wrote that there was strong evidence that the removal of the amount was to shrink the matrimonial assets that would be divided by the courts.

Given the circumstances, the judge said the withdrawal of that $3.2million "was not legitimate and was not justified."

In addition, he had also attempted on two occasions to dispose of his wine collection in their matrimonial home, and shut down the couple's shoe business, Cloud 9 Lifestyle, which owns Madam Chua's Manolo Blahnik shoe boutique, by terminating interbank loans from the parent company, D'League Pte Ltd to Cloud 9.

He had also tried to dispose of the family cars.

Mr Cuaca has appealed against the decision, which will be heard in the High Court in February.

A pre-trial conference on the divorce suit will be held in the Family Court tomorrow.

FIVE members of a family, accused of insulting the modesty of a 51-year-old woman by forcing their way into the bathroom of their home, dragging her out naked and calling her names, have been granted a discharge amounting to an acquittal.

The defendants were a 64-year-old retiree, his three daughters aged 32 to 38 and his son, 29. Accused along with them was the son’s ex-girlfriend, 30.

The alleged victim, the retiree’s wife, became his ex-wife last August, with their divorce becoming final.

In passing judgment yesterday, District Judge Hamidah Ibrahim said the woman who alleged the abuse had failed to prove her case beyond a reasonable doubt. The six thus stood to be acquitted.

The court heard that the woman had married the retiree, a widower, in 2004, making her the stepmother to his grown-up children, with whom she had a rocky relationship.

Mr Willie Yeo, the lawyer representing the family members, told the court that when the woman failed to get the court to impose a monthly maintenance payment on her husband, she accused the family of collectively insulting her modesty in a Magistrate’s Complaint in March 2008.

Neither the woman, a hairdresser, nor the family members can be named.

After the acquittal yesterday, the man’s eldest daughter, a dental assistant, told reporters that the family was relieved by the outcome and the experience had “united” the members.

She said in Mandarin: “This has been hanging over our heads for more than two years and we are very glad it is over.”

During the three-day trial last October, the court heard that the woman had taken out a private summons against the six defendants when the police declined to press charges.

She accused her then husband of abetting two of her stepdaughters in forcing their way into the bathroom of the master bedroom of the family’s three-room flat in Teck Whye Lane early on May 20, 2007. They then allegedly dragged her out naked, as the others stared at her and called her “prostitute”, “bitch” and “bastard”. They were also said to have yelled at her to move out immediately.

In their defence, the family members said she married the retiree in March 2004, and convinced him to keep it a secret from his children – at least until a few months later, when she moved into the Teck Whye flat where the son, an optician, also lives.

The son later found out she had convinced his father to will the flat to her.

On the day of the alleged incident, the son heard the couple quarrelling in the bedroom. Later, upon hearing that she had hurled an apple at his father, he asked his sisters to help him get her out.

His eldest sister arrived, and suggested calling the police. The officers advised the woman to leave the house, which she did, reluctantly.
Ten months later, she filed the Magistrate’s Complaint against them.

The siblings said they now hoped their father, who is going blind from glaucoma, can enjoy some peace and quiet in his life.

What would one do with S$450,000 per month?

I would like to see how she justify the amount she asked for.

How to Get a Bigger Wallet in Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

The initial wallet given to you in "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" doesn't hold many Rupees. At first, this may not seem like a big deal. INDONESIAN businessman Nurdian Cuaca, who is at the centre of a divorce case, is on the Interpol wanted list for alleged fraud, but yesterday he denied any knowledge of a police probe against him in any country.

His name is on Interpol's Red Notice alert, which means Interpol is seeking help from its 188-member countries' police forces to keep a lookout for him, with a view to arresting and extraditing him. According to the notice, Mr Cuaca, 45, is wanted for alleged fraud by the Indonesian police.

Hohohoho..

Only fools will complain about the women charter after they divorce their sinkie wife.

Ladies do not go into a marriage thinking of failure in order to make money out of it.

No wonder woman would prefer to marry a rich husband than a poor one. PAP polices have brought woman's charter to the next level to beneift woman with utlerior motive beyond the reason of love. Does this help in putting more male on the marriage statistics and up birth rate?

On one hand they wanted to increase Singapore birth rate, on the other they tried to squeeze your balls. PAP is worse than snake.
