I am not a hardcore opposition supporter, I feel grateful for what Najib has done to be Prime Minister for all Malaysians.
But he does not want to eradicate those extremists/racists in UMNO under Dr.Monster's influence, evidently shown by fielding joker like Zulkifri Nordin just to please the group that advocates Malay supremacy.

Being a Buddist/Chinese Malaysian, ever since I was old enough to be eligible to vote (Yr-2004) - I never failed to vote for PAS.

As a foreigner in Malaysia and obviously benefitting from the graciousness of the country, I need to say that your post is a sign of political maturity.

Malaysia's electorate gains from having a good competitor in the political race. This will only strengthen and broaden the skills of leadership. The country is on the path to the brighter side of things. The political spirit within leads to competition of ideas. With the competition of ideas comes the progress and with progress, prosperity shall prevail over time!

Sustainability will be key. Many Asian Governments are falling over themselves to impose controls on the movement of 'hot money'. This is a necessary evil else it will be a difficult problem to manage when interest rates start rising. It could be very ugly then and could signal the next destination for a financial crisis.

So I will not be surprised if there are curbs and they may not be politically driven.

That said, I fee that the headroom for growth within Malaysia is there. The currency is undervalued and there are abundance of opportunities. Even if it can execute only half of it successfully, it would be sizeable.

Hope the lessons learnt since 90's help reduce destruction this time if it happens. With capital control still in place and much better surplus positions, Malaysia should be able to reduce damages, though economy and investors would still be hit hard.

We seem like one minded, I seconded your opinions

How I really wish that BN with their racial policies abolished but it might not happen in my lifetime I'm afraid. As most of the tweets from Malaysians also have doubt it will happen due to the diversities and policies that so entrenched that it might take years to be taken off.
Eventhough I really wish that BN will lose this election but I think they win and probably with the similar margin in the last election. The bright side is that it will offset some positive impacts for Malaysia as a whole. You can see some positive impact from last election when BN couldn't win with 2/3 majority. BN need to have a wake up call with a vigorous shake to wake them up.

Right. The authorities must really be on the look out for the tsunami of newly printed Yen and USD finding their ways to exchange for pieces of solid assets and in the process pushing up prices. The unfair advantages for countries with internationalized or reserved currencies are obvious: they could just print money when in need to pay for imports or exchange for valuable assets. Many innocent investors and businesses would be holding the bag of greatly depreciated assets when the reverse flow kicks in.

Well said. Whoever rules, pressures must be that the ruling parties work their butts off for betterment of all Malaysians in order to stay in power: a win for all Malaysian common folks.

I think true democracy should looks beyond political party but rather looking at individual. At my constituency, I look at the each individual who is contesting and I will choose who is the best for my constituency not at the party.

Even though I'm vested, I always tell my Malaysian friends to vote for a better future.

There are too many scary possibilities out there, other than the opposition reversing Iskandar policies and making it unfavourable for foreign investment et al.

The bigger worry I have is the bubble building up.

But for now, will just sit tight and watch the elections...
