I think I made my pt....
on 1 hand, TOC tellin us we need full accountability for PAP candidates, on the other hand tell us WP MP is not accountable to anyone but his family members and his religious community.
I think we see it alot in the forum here, hotbed of opp supporters.... when I post the BT article on how well SIngapore is doing, all the wise old men pretend not see it and let it be bump down with no comment.....
if we can close 1 eye for something, then we can close 1 eye for anything....
Look at TT post, she can open 10 thread on the CNB/SCDF incident and yet not a single post on Yaw, same goes for RonRon who can can open 10 thread on the Yaw and yet not a single post on CNB/SCDF incident.
This is a sneering criticism of every1 who remain silent on issues simply because it is inconvenient..... and also every1 who open their mouth on every single issues but say different thing when it concern different people, like TOC...
I expect to be zap so make my day..... but more likely this thread will be bump down simply because it make people feel uncomfortable....
meantime the silent swing voters remain silent, ... we are reduce to Boss trolling the forum with sometime weak arguement to get some semblance of balance, while his clumsy effort are appreciated.... the extreme way which he does it doesnt bridge the any difference so we have 2 sides that look like they are talking to each other but in reality just totally speakin to themselves only..... so silent middle ground still have no voices ...
middle ground doesnt have to be unprincipled, no opinions and silent... I encourage moderate to speak put... if they exist in the 1st place..... or still exist now...
Disclaimer: I dun pretend to be moderate, I have strong views on stuff and even stronger methods of expressing it....
TOC Editorial: The Steve Tan debacle – Singaporeans deserve a full account

The natural conclusion Singaporeans will come to is that for such a ground-breaking decision to have been made, the Steve Tan’s “problem” must have been a significant one.
Singaporeans will ask the natural question: if Mr Steve Tan came within minutes of getting on a PAP slate and entering Parliament on the coattails of senior GRC Minister Mah Bow Tan, who else on the PAP slate might be inadequately vetted?
Finally, Mr Baey’s grassroots leaders and constituents deserve an explanation. They have had no chance to size their new MP up, let alone vote for him. To the broader electorate, the refusal so far to give a forthright explanation can come to remind them of the least likeable aspects of the PAP’s style of decision making: its’ opaque and condescending tone.
Unless a full and frank accounting for what went wrong with Steve Tan is given, this debacle has the potential to set a very inauspicious note for the PAP’s election campaign.

Workers' Party MP, Yaw Shin Leong has come under fire for an alleged extra marital affair. From a moral standpoint and in a black and white world, Yaw’s actions, if true are reprehensible. However, does this have any bearing on his role as an MP?
MPs might be public figures but they are also entitled to a private life. Just because they appear in the media does not automatically give the public a right to pry at every turn.
Public figues have to be held accountable, but only to the extent of the remit of their powers. It would be fair for the media to expose Yaw if he had abused his powers as Member of Parliament, engaged in nepotism or committed a crime.
In this case however, Yaw is not accountable to anyone but his family members and his religious community. It is not for us or anyone in the media to stir controversy and pass judgment.
Whether he has a good marriage or not is besides the point (as long as it has not affected his role as MP).
In this case, it is not apparent that his private life has affected his public role. It is therefore not an issue unless we make it one.
