Ten real reasons why your prime minister asks you not to study for a degree

Europe gives foreign aid even during a recession

The only country which is a financial position to give aid is Germany, the country with the lowest percentage of varsity graduates.

The state only mandates that they look after one of your geese. If you have 10 geese, you are perfectly entitled to look after the other 9 yourself.

This is a fair and prudent policy. It ensures that the vulnerable members of society are protected while those who are more capable are free to do as they please with their retirement funds.

why not the state mandate that those who are more capable with 10 geese give up 4 of their geese....and give half a geese to everybody.....and also mandate that everyone rear one geese of their own,so when they retire they have half a geese from the state as a safety net and one geese of their own for additional comfort in their retirement?pension+superannuation=win win.

LHL does not want everyone to get a Masters degree like Scholar Generals.

If I put in a lot of hard work and effort to accumulate 10 healthy geese, why in God's name should I be compelled to give up what I rightfully earned so that it can be distributed to useless, lazy, parasitic members of society who can't be bothered to build up their own nest egg?

The reason why the honorable PM is discouraging the mad pursuit of paper qualifications is because he wants to encourage a broader development of various skills within the sinkie population. This will ensure that Singapore cements its place as a 1st world nation with a first world standard of living.

The best way is to lead by example. PM Ass Loon and his cronies must enrol their offsprings in polys and ITEs, im sure many sinkies will follow. If not then dont talk cock.

True, if too many people are highly qualified, they will challenge why these paper generals and children of ministars are chosen to lead and not them who are equally talented, if not more.

well we are talking about what makes society work not what u feel,u know?how to make society and the country a better place(swiss or australian standard of living).after all why make millions suffer just so a few can accumulate wealth at a even faster and tremendous rate and satisfy their insatisable greed?it is not prudent nor efficient.if we were an advanced alien civilisation(asgarde or ancients or replicators or vulcan) we would see this is as a terrible way of progress.....pandering to some primitive desires of human beings to propel mankind and humanity.

for an example of selfless sacrifice for the betterment of man, look at billionaire chuck feeney a man who was a self made billionaire who decided one day to just give it all away....to help change his birth country for the better and help bring peace and transform it from a developing economy into a world class education institution.

and then there is the topic of greed and its biological roots....

Interestingly, what's their median education level? :p:p:p

Does Socialism Work? A Classroom Experiment

November 16, 2011 by Dan Mitchell

I posted a video making this point earlier in the year, and I also posted a version of this joke back in 2010, but here’s another version that’s worth sharing because of the five lessons to be learned at the conclusion.

=================================

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A…. (substituting grades for dollars – something closer to home and more readily understood by all).

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

It could not be any simpler than that.

There are five morals to this story:

  1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
  2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
  3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
  4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
  5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Wonder how a thread about giving everybody who has the aptitude, an opportunity to higher education ended up, at least in the most recent posts that I cared to scan, being about socialism versus capitalism?

A society that aims for equality before liberty ends up with neither, but a society that aims first for liberty will end up with something closer to equality. Liberty includes the opportunity to pursue university degree if one has the aptitude and is prepared to shoulder part of the burden while society helps out through taxes collected from the People. Certainly better than throwing taxpayers' money at foreigners who after being educated at Sinkie taxpayers' expense goes off to truly First World countries that value liberty like Milton Friedman's for example.

Sinkieland is like Professor Friedman's example at the end: A is the PAP, B is its cronies, C is the Sinkie peasants regardless of who they voted for, D are the very few that actually benefited from the very limited social programs. The difference is that A and B in Sinkieland's case don't just "take a little bit on the way", they take A LOT!

The PAP is talking crap. Utter hypocrites when you're giving the jobs to FT grads from shithole universities. And to make matters worse, quite a lot of them have fraudulent credentials.

This insane obsession with increasing the population by any means necessary must stop.

Education is the only way to get out of poverty. That is why ah nehs in angmo countries put their kids in international schools instead of public schools.
