Tai Gong actually was supposed to have founded the state of Qi and after he passed on, he was given the title, 齊太公. One of his descendants, the fifth ruler of Qi, 齊哀公 was even supposedly cooked/boiled by the order of the Zhou emperor.

Eventually the Tian family, (Meng Chang Jun (孟尝君) was one of the Tian) took over and of course in the end, Qi was the last state to be incorporated into Qin and China was unified.

By the way, below an example of a Qi dynasty sword (replica of course) but a pretty good one based on a burial example that was unearthed as it is made from a single billet. This must have been similar to the "singing" sword that 冯谖 rapped his fingers on (弹剑而歌) when he was trying to attract Lord Meng Chang's attention. I think it is debatable that Cantonese and Hokkien are older languages than Mandarin but southern chinese folks are actually northern chinese mixed with the arboriginal tribes. So south of the yangtze river, you find more dialects than north of it. And northern chinese are generally taller and of bigger build. Its a myth that chinese are one race - more that chinese share the same culture. This myth was perpetuated probably for reasons for dynastic stability.
