Netizen’s sharing: That afternoon, when coming out of JB Sentral at the checkpoint in Johor Bahru, I saw a group of taxi drivers sitting by the roadside.
One Singaporean young man walked up and asked for the price, and he heard the driver in Picture 1 quote RM60 to go to Larkin Bus Terminal.
The Singaporean young man thought this Malay driver was overcharging, so he decided to ask other drivers for their prices.
The Malay driver in Picture 1 pursued him and asked the Singaporean young man what price he thought was appropriate.
The Singaporean young man said that Grab showed only RM12, but need to wait 15 mins, he’s rushing that’s why he is checking taxi now.
It seems that this Malay driver heard grab is only RM12 was angry and provocatively asked the young man what he wanted to do.
The Singaporean young man accused him of overcharging. The driver then pushed the young man, and the young man pushed back in self-defense.
The driver took advantage of his larger build to push and shove the Singaporean young man to the point of almost choking him by grabbing his neck with his arm.
The young man then shouted for help, and nearby auxiliary police came over to intervene and warned the driver to let go.
The most despicable thing is that during this incident, the driver’s fellow taxi drivers did not intervene to stop him.
