I used to frequent the Ponderosa restaurant there (the salad buffet was fantastic). Now I think the entire chain is gone.

So you were 21? or still 21?...:D There was a Ponderosa at Marina Square too..

;)

balaji, if you trace back this thread, i am the one who first brought up Ponderosa. I was myself amazed because it was a blast from the past i tot i had forgotten!

Halsey is right, there was one in Marina Sq.
In fact the last I heard of it & it was in the early 2000s, there was a Ponderosa in Tampines Mall.

I believe it has exited our shores.... a pity. I always prefer Ponde to Swenson.
The fish & chips instead of chips, the baked potato in silver foil, when you add butter in while it is hot .... SMASHING !

All due to a few Stattues @ Marina Bay...:D

There was an alternative to Kentucky Fried Chicken...call Texas Fried Chicken, at People's Park Centre...where it served good fried chicken, corn on cobe with butter on foil, & Jalapeno pepper...

:D

My goodness Oasis used to be my tea dance hang out. It was called octagon. that was as beng as I could be.

Drinks served were coke and orange juice!!! lol. Im an eigthies kid with alibaba pleated pants.

Underground passage from Metro (next to ymca) to reach the basement with all the arcade games, besides galaxian, space invaders, scrambler, pug man (chom chom, i think). Then move over to toys department with lots of star wars toys....:D

dont mention star wars pls.

I threw all my first series collection away! The ones with retractable light sabers on. Those days toys where really toys, not some seal up trophies but toys you make up stories and played along with!

I still have my x-wing with battle damage sticker and AT-AT until now:D Love the smell of plastic.
