Statement by PM Lee on By-Election for Hougang Constituency May 26 BE

Ramseth said:
Will GMS be contesting as independent candidate since he's jumping up and down, twisting and shouting about WP allegedly immoral and arrogant?

He has another HDB flat to sell meh?

This one's attractive. S$1000 please. On? I think the Capt can get 10%.
15% max.

On, but to clarify, if he dares not contest, count as I win. That's what we call sidebet bite fishhead. Bets confirmed on Nomination Day and results on Counting Night.

what happened to the court hearing?

the judge should make a decision in the first place.

then...suddenly out of the dark foggy cloudy sky, this lighting strikes!

holy ghost. what will happen? Will WP pull through or will PAP hammer the Hammer to pieces! Nahbeh!!!

So much things happening to our dear little country, and we feel so helplessly hopelessly useless and hapless!

PM LHL sent the case to the CJ and the CJ sent the case to the A-G and the A-G sent the case back to PMO. Get the picture?

He has another HDB flat to sell meh?

Yes, his mother's. I don't see any problem with that. He's going to inherit the flat anyway.

SINGAPORE: Two opposition parties have declared their stand not to contest the Hougang by-election.

In a statement, the Secretary-General of the National Solidarity Party (NSP) Hazel Poa says after careful deliberation, the party has decided that it will not be fielding a candidate in the upcoming Hougang by-election.

The Singapore Democratic Party (SDP), in a Facebook posting, also reiterated that it will not be fielding a candidate for the Hougang by-election. The party had stated previously that it would not contest the by-election.

SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said the Hougang by-election should not distract the country from focusing on national priorities and building an inclusive Singapore.

In his Facebook post, Mr Lee said the by-election will give Hougang residents the chance to elect a new MP to serve them.

He encouraged Hougang voters to use the opportunity wisely and urged them to elect the best candidate with commitment and integrity, as well as someone, whom Mr Lee said voters can rely upon to express their hopes and concerns, address their needs, and make a real difference to their lives.

Mr Lee noted that over the past year, the Government has worked hard together with Singa*poreans to implement its programme to build an inclusive Singapore, and improve the lives of all.

He added that much work remains ahead to translate the policies and programmes into actions on the ground.

Mr Lee also touched on the personal indiscretions of former Hougang MP Yaw Shin Leong, which saw his expulsion from the Workers' Party in February.

Mr Lee said the Workers' Party first kept totally silent, then supported Mr Yaw.

Three weeks later, Mr Lee said the party suddenly expelled Mr Yaw from the party.

And until now, he said the Workers' Party has not given Singa*poreans a full and proper account of what happened, or why it acted the way it did.

Mr Lee said Mr Yaw himself has said nothing, either to explain or to apologise for his behaviour, and has reportedly left the country.

He said both the Workers' Party and Mr Yaw have let down all those who voted for him.

Since the outcome is rather obvious and the BE result a foregone conclusion, why must the PAP contest and then lose? Why do we want to waste time to move forward to make our country more inclusive? Let's just close ranks and shoo in W on Nomination Day so we dont have to have a BE. The PAP can also spare itself more embarrassing electoral vote results.

First the PM wanted to waste time by stalling HG residents then when challenged in court and about to face an embarrassing court rebuff, now suddenly becomes so nice and says he is doing this for our sake. What kind of PM is this?

Bloody useless Singaporeans don't even know what a member of parliament's responsibilities are.

What kind of PM is this?

Wah. This is a very open question that can draw out adjectives, superlatives and many other ".... tives"

Let me start .....^&$&%*(&)&$&^$&*%&&)^(^%*&^$^#^+_)*)*&^#^@#&$%*%(^&)(*)*)&(%&#@!&^%*%^()&)&!!!!!!
