China's options are limited to the degree that the US is pursuing its decoupling agenda through sanctions, tariffs, quotas and politically motivated legal actions, and enforcing these on its allies. Chip technology is one area, telecom another, EVs yet another.
America is the sole perpetrator of decoupling; China is merely reacting on the back foot. The rest of the world loses out, being forced to choose sides, resulting in the formation of incompatible trade blocs.
