It depends on the structure of the sentence. Check you translator as it gives you the options.
I just checked again using the translator. Sampai = to in the big box, below scroll up got one long string... sampai= reach, come, arrive etc as a verb, = as far as adverb, = to, through, unto etc as preposition, = until, till as conjunction..aiyoh so many diff interpretations how to remember..Kepala pusing..
some example :
from sg to my = dari sg "ke" my
give it to me = beri "kepada" saya
from here to where ? = dari sini sampai mana ?

I suppose you need to have real life conversations in Malay to understand better. Understanding Malay by reading and translating is rudimentary at best and can lead to misunderstanding. A better way but quite troublesome is to copy the Malay translation and then reverse it from Malay/English to English/Malay. That too is not perfect.
