A GROUP of eight Indian expatriates here for studies or work decided to take a short break in Batam together.
That brief getaway in the last weekend of August was to change things irreversibly for them: Three of them were killed in a pre-dawn accident on the Indonesian island on Sunday when their rental car crashed into a stationary lorry.
