What has happen had happened. Yes, accountability is indeed required. But you don't expect the investigation to yield results in an instant. Put yourself in their shoes. I'm sure after the BOI, there will be accountability as with past incidents, eg: the SCDF drowning case. Just like some Sinkie traitors here who keep harping that Singapore has no balls to confront the illegal maritime intrusions by Malaysia in Tuas, but then, didn't Mahathir had said that Singapore had over reacted by sending warships to chase his Chief Minister away? These Sinkie traitors are desperately out to stir and pull down Singapore whenever and with whatever opportunities they can grab. Collaborators are even worse than these despicable Sinkie traitors.
Only despicable politicians are out to take advantage of the situation for their own political gain and I find that Lim Thean is one of them. The WP's approach is more sensible and non confrontational. What is more important now is for MINDEF to find out the exact cause, improve on the safety aspects in all areas to prevent a similar recurrence, and finally, to also meet out the punishments to those who are found to be negligent. Nobody here is saying there's no need for accountability. There could also be that the appropriate safety protocols are already in place, but the commander (especially if he's also a reservist) did not fully abide to it. There could also be lapses in insufficient safety provisions provided inside the Howitzer's cabin as I have mentioned in my previous post.
In the meantime, we can only wait for the outcome from the BOI. People can judge for themselves, if MINDEF will not meet out with the appropriate punishments, they are only putting themselves to further distrusts with the people. No need for other political agenda and oppositions to do as such. Aloysius is dead and whatever claims of unproven negligence now will still not bring him back to life again. The crux now is to ensure further improved safety protocols so that there won't be the next person to suffer a similar tragedy again.
The accident happened 6 days ago. There are (only) 2 witnesses on board.
How long they need to carry out the investigation??? 6 days not enough to interrogate the 2 witnesses?
All they can say is aloysious (rest his soul) didn't move out of the way.
Why don't they say why the gun barrel was moving?
