Two Fatal Accidents on Miaoli County's Route 3 in a Single Day

Miaoli County, Taiwan (December 14, 2024) - A tragic series of events unfolded on Route 3 in Miaoli County yesterday, claiming two lives within a span of a few hours.

In the morning around 10 AM, a 19-year-old Vietnamese male university student, surnamed Huang, was riding his motorcycle when he lost control while negotiating a curve. He slid into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a sedan driven by a 42-year-old man surnamed Gu. The impact was so severe that Huang suffered multiple abrasions and lacerations, and despite immediate medical attention, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Just four hours later, around 2 PM, another fatal accident occurred approximately four kilometers away on the same road. A 36-year-old Singaporean man, surnamed Lu, was driving a rented car with his wife and 5-year-old daughter when he crashed into a roadside electric pole. The impact caused the vehicle to spin out of control, and the 33-year-old wife became trapped in the back seat. The husband and daughter were able to escape and seek help. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and attempted to extricate the woman, but she was already lifeless. She was transported to the hospital where she was officially declared dead.

According to reports, the Lu family had rented a car in Chiayi and were traveling north to Miaoli to pick strawberries in Dahu. They were on their way to Nanjang Old Street when the accident happened. The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The high frequency of accidents on this particular stretch of Route 3 has prompted local authorities to issue a warning to motorists. With numerous curves and inclines, the road is known to be accident-prone. Police are urging drivers to exercise caution, remain focused, and adhere to all traffic rules to ensure their safety and the safety of others.

These parents and their brats are the reason why prices for travel increase during the school holidays. :whistling:

And depending on the location, it could be highly congested with their kind too.

Gansiokbin drove onto jb wall, broke collar bone and laugh after that.
She ownself said one

Sinkies should not try to drive in countries with left hand driving. I nearly got into an accident in Jeju 7 years back in the countryside. :frown:

Sinkies are the worst drivers ever, just look at road accidents here
I agree. They are used to city, start/stop urban driving. Give them an interstate highway, open roads and they are fucked. They can't judge speed and braking distance.

Don't like that leh. I'd driven to Kuantan, KL, Ipoh, Penang and Hatyai numerous times and also from Milan to Venice and back, still in one piece today.

We have the toughest driving test in the world, yet Singaporeans account for a disproportionately high number of serious or fatal car crashes overseas. My Australian friend once remarked that whenever he sees a headline on a major road accident in the Aussie paper, his first thought is: must be Singaporean self-drive tourists. Damn malu

Why nobody asked if it was P or F ?

If you watch the video, the guy drove straight to the lamp post, like machiam heart attack like that.

Just drive slowly can already why drive so fast somore not your country.
