[Singapore] - Young Singaporean couple not happy : Can't get BTO, yet priced out of Resale market

Who they voted for in last GE 2020 ???
They can buy a caravan.

It's not easy staying with parents or in-laws. HDB resale rocketed because new BTOs are scheduled to take 5-7 years to complete.

It is not called "public housing"...if the general public cannot afford it.

There were plenty of good vintage flats that were demolished for god knows what reasons.
They could be converted to dorms or rental flats, but of course, that's not good for increasing the value of the land. The cronies in the SLA and the real estate industry won't be happy about it.

Learn from the smart tiongs, adopt 躺平主义, aka lying-flat ideology.

They each can stay with their own parents Mon to Fri. Weekends just book hotel to fuck for 2 days. Young hongkies are already doing it. You can maintain the park-tor mentality after marriage which isn't necessarily a bad thing at all.

hahaha, bro, if got kids then tricky.

Anyway it's a good idea as hotels are really cheap these days, and don't need to commit to one girl.

SOS - "oh, i got a nice room at Mandarin Oriental this weekend, got breakfast for two included, want to come over to spend the nights with me?:rolleyes::rolleyes:"

Why have kids ? If the couple's lives are already miserable, their offsprings will have it much worse.

Why they never take degree course with Uptron. Can afford $1M++ Condom in the east.

Or karang guni like @glockman.
Stays in Sentosa Cave.

@glockman--Sorry, if I dont tagged you, my life span decrease by 69 hrs.
If tagging me frivolously and needlessly will extend your life, then by all means, do it. I will just have to deal with it in my own way.

Excuse me while I break open another bottle of whiskey.

Actually sg should have a caravan park.
Couple can stay inside roving house. No need to pay so much for housing.

the short term view of asset enhancement as good for the nation is finally coming back to bite us in the backside as our children now become aspiring property owners and are priced out of the market.

expect the PAP to lose even more votes next round as they can no longer reverse the asset enhancement policy without screwing over existing owners and are stuck in a classic catch-22.

it's quite easy to peer into the crystal ball of market forces and foresee the demise of the PAP if they don't change track. the Covid lost generation is going to be an angry one.
