Not the same. The Yank’s warships had been hanging around for decades… I doubt US can inflict the same amount of damage on China than NATO could in Russia. Furthermore China had always upheld its commitment to peaceful reunification 以德服人. Just look at HongCon… they have a lot of loud mouth protestors but by and large, the reunification with China is successful. China would want to achieve the same with Taiwan. Not taking over by killing and living to face the repercussions.

Basically, Ukraine is fucked. No one’s gonna burn their own pockets or send their soldiers for their cause. The clear outcome is a rebalance of world superpowers which is long overdue - US, Russia and China. The era of Uncle Sam’s dominance effectively comes to an end with this war. It is also a win for China, why? Taiwan could well learn a lesson or two from the episode that US is only interested in sucking their military expenditure or pissing off China. When a real confrontation happens, US will stay silent like a lamb.
