Singapore showing signs of cracking even before 6.9M

Singapore’s ability to accommodate 6.9 million according to the Population White Paper is showing signs of cracking even at this stage. Everywhere we go we see overcrowding. Materialism has gripped from top downwards taking its toll on human values.

What was once a good model for progressive growth based on value addition from a knowledge based sector has seen things going the other way. Let us analyse them one by one.

In employment only now is the Ministry of Manpower taking action to verify the qualifications and credentials of almost 200,000 PMETs from India. We know that many could be fake or below the standard even though it is a degree. Right from the outset a planned method of verifying the standards against our Polytechnics and universities should have been put in place. Why are we only now doing a sample – mind you sample – check on these qualifications?

Many were screaming in the online pages to check and verify the standards. Even from a system standpoint if for every Singaporean an Indian IT graduate for example is placed side by side as a quota we could have verified the actual competency of such so called professionals. I am not saying all but a fair number would have been fakes if the online response is anything to go by. And one peculiar thing we see in such Indian IT ‘professionals’ is they go around in a bunch seldom mixing with the locals. This could be obviously for fear of being detected. A confident professional will mix with any crowd and blend. Why are we doing the vetting so late in the day when if it was done at the outset many Singaporeans’ jobs would have been saved????

Next we come to housing. Why is public housing which was originally meant for citizens thrown open to such foreigners? All you need is a few and they will know how to bend the rules and go round the system. Only now are we tightening. Isn’t it too late when the damage has already been done!!!

Next we come to common spaces. We always believe that to integrate it is necessary for these foreigners to spread out. That was the only reason why we have GRCs and even population of the four main races spread out to create One Singapore. Why are the foreigners left alone? Even schools are specially done for them from Global Indian School to many other schools catering to these foreigners. Why are we talking of integration and certifying permits for such practices contrary to the principles of integration? Why are there two sets of rules – one for foreigners and one for us?

In any economic planning you can be the richest country in the world. The citizens and their forefathers who have built this land are left by the wayside while many foreigners with their abundant wealth have created a widening gap between the rich and the poor Singaporeans. Where is it going to take us???

Many serious issues such as these are now surfacing. Where will they lead us?

It is so overcrowded and noisy until that CB Josephine cannot hear or see why people are angry.

Even the most ambitious prostitute doesn't service 100 men every night... that would be hazardous to her health. She knows her limits.

The pappies do not know Singapore's limits.

I really hope the Population White Paper, as well as the accompanying fuckups along the way, spell political suicide for the PAP. Every political dynasty must come to an end. Refer to Indonesia's Golkar Party.

Here are a bunch that can service 150 Pappies each per night without missing a beat.
