In the early 90s, the pap allowed heaps of HKs to come in and after a while they came and went back to HK eventhough the quality of housing is better than in HK,,,so if alot of Hks come down now,,,when things stabilised they might go back,,but of course the HK to today and 20 years ago is different,,,they might really want to leave,,,in another 28 years when the 50 year period ends what than? will Ah tiong land change enough to be a place to live? or will it get worse? or maybe the whole world will be like ah tiong land,,,censorship and rule by decree etc,,,? My personal opinion is Ah tiongs are very happy with the CCP and will not rock the boat,,,,so the CCP will continue to be ruled by hardliners....and the CCP will try and deliver economic benefits but no social and political freedoms,,,the bottomline is the CCP will be the be all and end all. and the ah tiongs will be happy and HK ppl will accept it and become a typical ah tiong.

One thing the average joe here needs to know is the brainwashing techniques and propaganda by the CCP in ah tiong land has worked wonders on the ah tiong popn and the ah tiongs are not in the interest of clamouring for democracy and freedoms etc,,,,so HK will continue to be oppressed and the ah tiongs themselves will oppress the HKs,,,so basically HK will be forced to become just another ah tiong city,,,
With the hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong's protesters across a broad section of the population gathered today to protest against the passage of the extradition bill and renew calls for Carrie Lam to resign, Hong Kongers are telling the world that they are sick of the China's authoritarian rule of government as manifested by Carrie Lam who they see her as a stooge of the CCP. They wanted change... they wanted leaders who can understand their needs, who are consultative and seek to improve their livelihoods and help them achieve their aspirations ... if not, many who can afford it will soon migrate to other countries.

They can't do another Tiananmen... not his time when they are facing the biggest challenge from US. All the goodwill reputation that President Xi has built up with the rest of Asia with the One Road One Belt initiative will go down the drain. And the US will add more economic pressure on President Xi for human rights violation.

It is likely that CCP may ask Carrie Lam to step down in order to pacify the public... and they will choose another stooge to replace her.

The CCP can do anything it wants,,because in ah tiong land,,,the ah tiongs support the CCP strongly. The ah tiongs have lapped up the CCP propaganda and brain washing. What the hell is a HK compared to the whole of ah tiong land?

Unlikely ... if there are heavy casualties in the aftermath, it will not do good for President Xi at the G20 Summit. What the CCP wants is stability under a new leadership... Since Carrie Lam is the one who mess this up ( the extradition bill was entirely her idea ) , she is to be held accountable for the unrest.

So what will the G20 do if the tanks enter HK? they will invade ah tiong land?? and u think Carrie Lam will launch the bill without being sat on by the CCP?

Carrie Lam will be forced to apologise. But she may have to leave her post as CCP does not want this incidence to be hinted as a directive from them.

With the uncertainty in Hong Kong , Singapore will stand to gain . Perhaps spring comes early for Singapore .

SINGAPORE: Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) fell by 15.9 per cent in May, data from trade agency Enterprise Singapore showed on Monday (Jun 17).

The drop, partly due to a sharp decline in shipments to China, was slightly smaller than the 16.5 per cent decline predicted by economists in a Reuters poll, but more than the 10 per cent fall seen in April.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, exports rose 6.2 per cent month-on-month in May, following April's decline of 0.7 per cent due to a decrease in both electronic and non-electronic products.

Both electronic and non-electronic exports declined, with shipments to most top markets falling.

Electronic exports plunged 31.4 per cent in May year-on-year, on the back of the 16.3 per cent contraction in the previous month.

Integrated circuits (ICs), disk media products and parts of ICs contracted by 39.8 per cent, 42.4 per cent and 54.2 per cent respectively, contributing the most to the decline in electronic NODX.

Non-electronic exports declined by 10.8 per cent year-on-year in May, after the 8.0 per cent decline in the previous month.

Civil engineering equipment parts (-92.4 per cent), non-monetary gold (-72.4 per cent) and petrochemicals (-14.7 per cent) contributed the most to the decline in non-electronic NODX.

Total trade decreased by 2.1 per cent in May on a year-on-year basis, after the 3.2 per cent growth in the previous month.

Overall, exports to the majority of Singapore's top markets decreased in May, except to the US.

The largest contributors to the NODX decrease were China (-23.3 per cent), Taiwan (-34.7 per cent) and Hong Kong (-24.8 per cent).
