Singapore KFC taste like shit...

Anything you eat out in Singapore is bad for you....full of cholestrol (i.e. palm oil - cheap oil for hawkers) and if you guys never realize.....a lot of younger generationare are dying of heart attacks...........if Singaporeans don't wake-up, their life expentency will become 35 years old!...don't be surprised.

Really? That's good news. No need to worry too much about healthcare costs and retirement funds. Anyway, what oil to use when cooking home? If not palm oil, then corn oil, peanut oil or sunflower oil? Perhaps spend a little more if one can afford to and go for olive oil? Whatever, all are oils!

Exception.........LKY will live for very long since he has "VIRGIN BLOOD".

Really? That's good news too. No need to worry too much about political succession.

Are they extracting menstrual blood from the shit water they use for newater? :D

Think they should extract menstrual and piles blood with bloody mineral contents intact and export to Romania for Dracula Ionescu. Blooded driving is safer than drunken driving.

If you want to eat healthy KFC is the last place to look :D

Even if you use olive oil to fry things, any oil will eventually oxidise in high heat. The best is to avoid fried foods & go for steamed or baked foods.

Exactly what I meant, all oils are oils.

Occasionally indulging for taste is alright, if the taste is worth the oils.

If you want to eat edibly tasting food in Singapore, KFC is the last place to look.

At home, I steam or boil everything. No fryer, no microwave.

Not suitable to be steamed or boiled? Sorry, can't buy back home to cook.

Baking is out of question too, it's good but out of reach and out of scale.

Don't forget about soups which can be nice & healthy.

You can bake fish, fries,.... in the oven. Of course baked fries are not as tasty as the fried ones. It all depends on how much one values ones health.:)

I don't have an oven. My little kitchen can only do boil or steam.

Shallow fry is technically possible, but of course I avoid that.

My friend who is a decorator tells me that some homes don't even have a kitchen at all:eek:

Some owners choose to leave out the kitchen as they just eat out. I think many will regret that decision.

Yeah, should have at least a little kitchen that can cook, boil, steam simple fare.

Hmm

Do you slice your own potato?

Sometimes I buy whole potatoes. I boil them whole with skin, not even peel. Then steam to further soften it and dry it; baking would be more straightforward if I have an oven. The skin is the most delicious (my personal taste) and also probably most nurtritious part since it's not all starchy stuff. Can just eat like that with a little dash of butter, margarine, mayonnaise or salad dressing, whatever happens to be in stock at hand. Not too much a dash, just a little dash to brighten up the look and taste, not so plain.

Nice..

I used to eat those small potatoes that are boiled.. when younger

I think baking consumes a lot of electricity.. and messy too.. I try to avoid it..

If you like to boil stuff.. can consider mashed potatoes.. like those from KFC..

Such Dutch potatoes were the best and the secret why original Hollywood and Rex curry puffs were so delicious. It's very hard to find in Singapore nowadays. Best easily available now are US Idaho potatoes.

For a snack of mashed potato, 7-11 Maggie self-service dispensing machine is better and cheaper than KFC anytime. KFC used to very good mashed potato. Not anymore, as with everything else on their menu now.

Yes, agree, that's best way to eat potato. But for me, that's only available occasionally with a restaurant steak meal.

Do you eat potatoes instead of rice and noodles, or do you eat potatoes with rice and noodles?
Given the properties of potatoes, i.e. high carbohydrates, I would have thought that most people would choose the former, but noticed that many people choose the latter, e.g. eating potatoes with rice or potatoes with curry chicken and rice.

At home, I eat corn and potato as staples. I eat rice and noodle occasionally, usually when eating with friends we order same meals together.
