Singapore overtook Indonesia in coronavirus infections and now has the most cases in Southeast Asia after the city-state detected hundreds more victims among low-wage foreign workers.

Authorities said an additional 596 cases were confirmed as of noon Sunday, bringing the total to 6,558 in the country. Of the 596, only 25 are Singaporeans or permanent residents, the health ministry said in a statement.

Since late March, the Southeast Asian nation has seen a surge in local transmissions that’s largely affected foreign workers housed in tightly packed dormitories, further complicating efforts to curb the spread. The government has tightened entry rules, mandated masks, poured billions of dollars into the economy and imposed a weeks-long partial lockdown to contain the outbreak.

With the new tally, Singapore moved ahead of Indonesia, which now has 6,248 cases, and the Philippines with 6,087 cases. The two countries are expected to release their latest figures later on Sunday.

We owe these foreign workers a debt of gratitude for helping us to build our MRT and HDB flats so we should look after them now
These foreigners should be grateful that they got jobs in singkieland at the expense of local employment. If they not happy they can go back to where they came from

How many today? Why no news?

This is what happens when you trust in the WHO and in Uncle Tedros.

Besides mocking other countries and bragging about yourself on CNBC and in Davos, there's really nothing the PAP govt is good at.

They always put sg n PR together,no breakdown, funny, we must know source, cause if it is imported from malaysia or india,or china, hv to have a plan to prevent. And also for children n teenages thry never breakdown also ,think the maids maybe carrier of virus n spreading in famillies that hired them.Government smart cos they are gsmbling that infected ones will self heal at home without stressing medical support in sg.sg really jialat this time, This CB is very tiring ,many things csnnot do,now should be transparent on age group ,who are the one infected report, including age group.
