Dear Prime Minister Mr Lee and Health Minister Mr Ong,
We write as concerned Singaporeans. COVID19 has caused much hardship worldwide and in our country and I thank the government for doing what you can to help us sail through this pandemic.
Today, we wish to speak up about the issue of vaccines in society. There has been much-heated debate about the safety of Covid vaccines worldwide. As a small country we need people to stay united and not let these issues divide us.
We do not agree to the implementation of a "Vaccine Passport" that allows different levels of access and rules for the vaxxed and non-vaxxed in public areas, schools, work areas, etc. We do not agree to different dining rules / safe distancing rules in society.
The reasons are as follows:
1) The current reports have shown that the vaccine doesn't prevent someone from being a carrier / or getting COVID 19. It only reduces the symptoms. If indeed the vaccine is effective, then it should do what it is supposed to do, which is to protect people from getting infected. A non-vaccinated person is not in more danger of being a carrier than a vaccinated person. We also only need to look at Israel to see the results of their vaccination programme.
2) Implementing complicated dining restrictions puts additional pressure and strains on F&B and establishments already overwhelmed by all the existing regulations. We do not need to have even more TO-DOs for our already stressed out operators and their employees who may / may not be able to verify rules of engagement quickly and accurately.
3) Such rules send the message of further division within our society and can incite anger, violence and hatred against each other and to the establishment which I believe is not something that the government would want. National Day is coming. There is no better time to remember that we are all Singaporeans regardless of race, language or religion. Why should we let vaccine matters divide us?
4) There are people in our society who cannot take the vaccine for medical reasons. Should they be discriminated against too for these reasons?
5) There is currently no approved vaccine by HSA or any health authorities for all the vaccines listed. They have only been approved for Emergency Use only. Further more, the manufacturers of the vaccines have absolved themselves from all recourse. What responsibilities are they going to take if lives are lost / hurt during the process?
According to https://www.historyofvaccines.org/content/articles/vaccine-development-testing-and-regulation an Educational Resource by the Physicians of Philadelphia,
"Vaccine development is a long, complex process, often lasting 10-15 years and involving a combination of public and private involvement.
The current system for developing, testing, and regulating vaccines developed during the 20th century as the groups involved standardized their procedures and regulations."
There simply hasn't been enough time for us to test the safety of the various vaccines effectively.
We are concerned that the speed at which the current vaccines have been created and the current narrative that they are somewhat "safe" is not standard medical practices used to safeguard populations. People have not been told that these vaccines are actually still in the developmental / trial stage because the 10-15 years needed to verify their safety has simply not been reached. As such, we wish to proceed with caution.
Discrimination based on whether someone has taken the vaccine is against the Nuremberg Code.
"The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential. This means that the person involved should have the legal capacity to give consent; should be situated as to be able to exercise free power of choice, without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, over-reaching, or other ulterior forms of constraint or coercion, and should have sufficient knowledge and comprehension of the elements of the subject matter involved as to enable him to make an understanding and enlightened decision. This latter element requires that before the acceptance of an affirmative decision by the experimental subject there should be made known to him the nature, duration, and purpose of the experiment; the method and means by which it is to be conducted; all inconveniences and hazards reasonably to be expected; and the effects upon his health or person which may possibly come from his participation in the experiment.
The duty and responsibility for ascertaining the quality of the consent rest upon each individual who initiates, directs or engages in the experiment. It is a personal duty and responsibility which may not be delegated to another with impunity."

5) We are very concerned that the recent warnings by a group of doctors to warn against the inoculation of young people have received a harsh response from MOH. It is not what we expect. We believe that the situation is highly complex and that we cannot be complacent or stick to a viewpoint without being open to developments and new information as millions of lives are at stake. We also hope that doctors and scientists can speak up without fear of disagreeing with the government/universities etc. We are receiving new information and new discoveries every day and doctors working so closely with patients may have new and first-hand information on how to evolve and better their treatments without unnecessary politics involved.
6) We are concerned that there are currently no Checks and Balances in the verification of vaccine injury and deaths reported. The body that verifies whether the vaccine has caused injury or death should be taken by an independent board, not related to MOH / HSA because we already know of friends and families who have suddenly died after they have taken the vaccine, but it is always, "Not enough evidence to suggest it is linked to the vaccine" or a similar response. This is a politically correct answer, but not the answer that we want.
7) We are concerned that Big Pharmas have systematically removed information that is not Pro-Vaccine on Youtube, Google, Facebook, Twitter and other sites and we do not want foreign influences to dictate the safety of our citizens and country. Singapore has always prided itself on our checks and balances and having a good and clean government and we want to assist the government in getting all the important information to move our country forward.
Steps Forward:
1. We request to stop complicated and divisive vax /non-vax dining and social gathering rules.
2. Do not allow companies and employers to fire someone / stop them from coming to work because they choose not to take the vaccine. Such discrimination is against the Nuremberg Code. We do not allow race, language or religion to divide us, why vaccine status?
3. We wish for transparent data of reported deaths and injuries within a certain time frame of having taken the vaccine to be given to the public. We wish for an independent board that makes up of a combination of public and private involvement to verify its safety and links.
4. We wish for a committee made up of concerned citizens from all walks of life to be in consult with the government of alternative steps needed to help our country moving forward as well as vaccine-related policies. It concerns families, parents, children, our senior citizens etc. It is important that people from all walks of society have a voice and have a say in important Public Health Safety Issues. Let us share some of the burdens with the government. We want a say in how we want to vaccinate / not vaccinate/ treat ourselves if we were to get the virus. Let us be responsible for our health. If we were to get any form of illness in Singapore, be it cancer or diabetes etc, we always have the right and the freedom of choice to choose how we wish to be treated. Why not COVID? What is so special about COVID that only certain methods of treatment are allowed when there have been so many reported protocols worldwide without relying on vaccines to save the day.
5. We know that we live in unprecedented times which calls for unprecedented action. 2 years ago, who would have predicted that life will be like this? We understand that the government is doing its best and as citizens, we want to do more for our country by stepping up and feedback to the government for voices on the ground so that we can make decisions as a country and rebuild our communities shattered by this pandemic.
6. No country has ever experienced such a crisis before but we know in our hearts that staying united as a people will never be wrong. And that doesn't mean having the same actions (being vaccinated). Nature has always thrived on diversity. Maybe the people who take the vaccine will be safer. Maybe the people who don't take the vaccine will be safer. Who knows?
The true effects of how safe a vaccine is can only be seen years from now, based on current vaccine development standards. If indeed they are not safe, it could mean that millions of people could be seriously affected/injured. Society will then have to rely on the nonvaccinated people to help the people who are affected. Of cos, I hope that day doesn't come. But applying a one solution fits all approach is definitely not a good call.
7. We have read of good alternative methods to end this pandemic eg. using Ivermectin and other drugs protocol as set out by FLCCC (Frontline Covid 19 Critical Care Alliance)
https://covid19criticalcare.com/covid-19-protocols/
We wish for the government to examine these alternatives immediately and not just rely on the vaccine solution but to take a multi-prompt approach to end this pandemic. If patients are willing to use these alternative methods eg Ivermectin etc, can MOH allow them to be used as soon as possible, signing similar forms that people need to sign for taking the vaccines? Please allow us to have Ivermectin and other protocols listed by FLCCC as alternative forms of treatment. We understand that it is in the experimental stage in the treatment for COVID.
Let us be responsible for our lives and please make alternative treatment options available. Have scientists and doctors examine these methods immediately and allow those who are sick to voluntarily participate in these trials so life can return to normal. This is when the diversity of opinions and solutions could be our steps forward.
Thank you for listening and we look forward to having a constructive dialogue ahead.
