If Singapore goes to war with China, it's not hard to predict who will win. We have many useless officers and men like that Captain Goh but luckily they are in the minority of our excellent fighting force.

That's why I always say, Singapore should get some nuclear missile submarines. They're called deterrents not for nothing. They prevent wars. Nobody will dare attack you if you have them. UK and France have abolished all land-based and airborne nuclear weapons in favour of nuclear missile submarines. Each submarine can deliver at least 20+ nuclear warheads while lurking undetected anywhere in the world which is 70% ocean. Enough to blow up the entire SEA back to stone age.

Dont think China would dare to use nuclear if war with a country like Singapore as they fired one missle, USA would do the same back and we will have total destruction on the rest of the planet.

But if Singapore ere to fight a war with China, it would not be on its owwn but as a collective as the main area of contention is the South China Sea and Singapore indirectly has a stake here too.

Can China win a war against SEA? Even with no US support the chance of a SEA victory is high as China do not have the naval strength to project southward and even with a carrier, China's naval forces are stlll considerablity weak against a collective Thai- malaysian-Singapore-brunei fleet.

Both indo and Pinoy navys will not be in any shape to fight and as for the vietnamess, they will be fighting for their lives in the viet-sino border so they would need all the help they can get.

A collective SEA air fleet however could be best way to destroy the Chinese military Technology wise, China could not match even the malaysian air force in air combat, dont talk about Thais or even Singapore.

My opinion is Singapore and China will not likely go to War.By probability,8 out of 10 families,the blood brothers will not fight against each other!

I am 3rd to 4th Generation Singaporean Chinese who is still contacting my relatives in Fujian,not to say the half a million PRC people here who have direct close relatives there,you think we brothers will fight?80% chances NOT.

One has to test a nuke and a nuke-capable missile. These things can't be done in secret.

before you did this posting, did you check the maps first?

How do you expect China to overrun Singapore when we have Thailand, Vietnam and malaysia in the way?

and let say they bypass all three countries by landing ships, you think China have the ability to even sail down South china Sea without getting sunked along the way? The combined Thais- viets- malaysian- Pinoy- singa naval fleet would have picked them off.

That 2 - 3 million man you are talking about would have reduce to less than 500k by the time they reach the causeway, very hungry, totally worn out and ready to surrender without the will the fight.

i think you lack knowleage of warefare.

let me ask you, u know how to surprise attack someone when he is sleeping?
how can i attack 10 or 20 person alone?either when they are sleeping or when they are not knowing i am ambushing them.

the trick to destorying a large number of troops is the word surprise!!!
with the technology of today, and the precise radar to locate any troops movement and deployment location, it's easy to take out one entire camp of army if the surprise element is there.

singapore or taiwan can also defeat china largest army.this is true and not illusion.

surprise element, plus mass killing bomb and enough spies and also, good teamwork can .. and i say can take out 70% of the chinese army.

maybe i really nothing better to do, but i study warefare and gurrilla warefare enough to know ... that small but efficient commando trainned personel with enough spies info and enough mass killing firepower warehead bomb etc ... can overthro communist regime!!!
