CAW incharge Inspector Gurdarshan K Bullar said police had decided to issue a show-cause notice to the the accused, Sham Sunder Arora, 40, as he did not reply to any communication they sent.
His wife Rohini, 35, had filed the complaint against him in July 2008. The case against him was registered on April 17 after a thorough investigation, said police officials. Sources said the couple had got married in 1997, but subsequently developed strained relations.
Talking to TOI, Rohini, a resident of Sector 33, said Sham Sunder took her to Singapore and later took $5,000 she had in her bank account.
She said he had handed over her jewellery to his father Inder Kumar Arora, who stayed in Harinagar in Delhi.
