With the easing of Covid-19 measures recently, I'm glad to see how vibrant and thriving Kampong Glam is.
Many of us head straight to the Ramadan bazaar for Ramly burgers and butter beer. But have you also checked out the light performance at Masjid Sultan? Or the light installation at the Malay Heritage Centre which was co-created by beneficiaries of social service agency Brighton Connection and local designer Lee Yun Qin?
Thanks to Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, LalooLalang, and One Kampong Gelam for the enjoyable time last evening.
This Hari Raya will be an extra special one for the Muslim community. Hope you are taking time to reconnect with loved ones while keeping the spirit of gotong royong alive.

Happy May Day to all! At the NTUC Singapore May Day Rally, we reaffirmed the need to chart our new way forward in a post-pandemic future.
Several moves have been made in #SGBudget2022. But there’s still much more to be done.
That's why the 4G team and I will lead an exercise to refresh our social compact. We will develop a "Forward Singapore" agenda to set out our roadmap for the next decade and beyond, and we will launch this soon.
We seek to hear your thoughts on the economy, healthcare, housing, education and many other areas. We will consider what we may need to do differently, but also affirm what is being done well and how we can do even better. So that together, we can build a better Singapore for us all.

There is no ready blueprint for the Singapore of tomorrow.
I hope to see a fairer, greener, and more inclusive Singapore that we will always be proud to call home - a home where everyone is accepted and valued; treated equally and with respect; and live with dignity, and flourish in their own way, regardless of their background or starting points.
Translating this ideal to reality will require more than my own personal hopes. It’s ultimately about what we can and must do as a people, together.
Let’s chart our new way forward together, and keep the Singapore Story going for many more generations to come!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri! Joined my GRC team mates Zaqy Mohamad and Alex Yam at An-Nur mosque this morning to convey well wishes for the start of Hari Raya celebrations.
After two difficult years of fighting the pandemic, I’m glad the Muslim community can finally enjoy a more cheerful and festive Hari Raya. May this year’s Raya be an extra memorable and special one - an occasion for us to be grateful for the many blessings we’ve received, and to spread the blessings to others in return.
