Lawrence is not done building Singapore.

Singapore’s strengths in urban solutions developed out of necessity. We built HDB flats, reclaimed land and recycled water for our own needs. But some of these solutions can become exportable services.
Over the decades, we have developed a thriving ecosystem in urban design and engineering. One key player in this space is Surbana Jurong - an entity that developed out of the technical arms of HDB and JTC, after they were corporatized.
SJ has grown to become Asia’s largest design and engineering consultancy firms. Glad to visit its new campus at Jurong, which brings together all of its staff under one roof, and serves as an incubator for innovation and industry collaboration.
We have come a long way in the last 60 years but we are not done building Singapore. There’s still much more to do as we reimagine and remake our future city. Look forward to working with all partners in building a better Singapore together!
