The “Huat Ah!” are ringing louder this year, as we countdown to the year of the rabbit!
Happy to join our grassroots leaders at People's Association for an early CNY celebration and chit-chat. I thank all our grassroots leaders and volunteers for the hard work in strengthening our community networks on the ground over the years. That’s a key reason why we were able to get through the challenges of the last three years - from encouraging our seniors to get vaccinated, to distributing care packs and more.
Let’s persevere in this important work, and continue to strengthen our community bonds, and our sense of solidarity and unity. That’s how we can overcome any challenges that come our way and build a better Singapore together.

Great time at the River Hongbao at Gardens by the Bay last night.
This is the first time since the pandemic started that we are able to get back in full swing with all the CNY activities. Many thanks to everyone for doing your part in fighting Covid these past 3 years.
Let’s cherish what we have and spend quality time with our family and loved ones. Come down to Gardens by the Bay and enjoy the festive activities, including the lantern displays, food street and carnival!
Happy Chinese New Year to one and all!
很开心到滨海湾花园为今年的春到河畔主持开幕!这里的过年气氛非常好,花灯,烟火和现场演出都为访客增添乐趣。这个兔年,祝大家新年快乐,希望大家在新的一年里身体健康,事事顺心。

Today, the median starting salary for university graduates is about twice that of ITE graduates and about 1½ times that of polytechnic graduates, he said.
Wow now graduate starting pay is so good. Last time it’s only a few hundreds above polytechnic pay.

Vulnerable families with young children in places such as Sembawang and Marsiling will receive more support to cope with daily expenses under a new North West Community Development Council (CDC) initiative.
Dubbed Little Steps @ North West, it will provide more than 650 children in the district with $500 each annually.
Beneficiaries will comprise children aged six and below who are supported by early childhood programme KidStart
Wow this is unheard of last time, $500 for children six years old and below. I remember scholarship or bursary for Junior college student was only $600 during my time.

The participant asked Mr Wong what the Government is doing to implement more inclusive policies. Mr Wong responded: “We are taking actions with regard to legislation.
“And we will continue to see how we can encourage more employers to uphold not just the letter of the law but the spirit of it, to really promote more inclusive workplace practices and fairer employment practices across the board – and the public service will do its part too.”
Very good. Start by firing hr manager that called staff names. And fire the boss too. An inclusive workplace should never have name calling and sexual insults.

Less than a month to #SGBudget2023
Had good discussions with several social sector leaders and social researchers over the past week. I value the feedback and inputs from these sessions as we prepare for #SGBudget2023. More will be announced on the Budget Day on 14 Feb.

#EveryWorkerMatters, and we are committed to supporting you - not only now, but also for the future.
Glad to join my fellow union leaders, tripartite partners, brothers and sisters from the Labour Movement to hear your views on #SGBudget2023.
We had an open and constructive dialogue on your concerns and ideas, which we will take back and study for the Budget.
Together with NTUC Singapore, we will continue to put the well-being of workers at the heart of everything we do. We will work closely with all our tripartite partners - employers and unions in the Labour Movement - to build a better Singapore!
